Kate
I like the idea that GEM is international now, but it is time I step back and Robert needs to retire after his last case nearly killed him in the line of duty. He was brought in to investigate a new human trafficking ring in the Seattle area and he got caught up in a hail of bullets. I was driven by squad car to the hospital and saw him being rushed inside the operating room. I couldn't even touch him because they needed to move him quickly and collect evidence along with it. Grace Grey was in the er and she told me what she could find out for me. Our children arrived soon afterward, thank God they were here for Christmas. Too bad this happened two days before Christmas. The trafficking ring was trying hard to get their victims sold and shipped out. They had been given a heads up by a mole in the offices. They didn't get the message that the criminals had been tipped off. Three officers lost their lives at the scene. The traffickers are holding hostages at this point. My dad is busy getting the scoop at this point. Ethan's daughter Jewel is the reporter at the scene. She works closely with dad.
Ava
I am wearing my badge and gun as I walk into the er and try to locate mom and my siblings. I finally see Robert jr. Herman and India are sitting next to mom and trying to console each other. We are watching as the showdown with the human traffickers is on the tv and still ongoing. Three have lost their lives trying to save the victims and failed so far. We thought there was a mole, but it seems like there are more people behind this at this point. 
Hannah
I arrive with Shawn my husband to be here for Kate. Our children thank goodness are visiting their in laws when this went down. My daughters work as under cover agents for the FBI and they were not sent out on this assignment. It was hard keeping things from such inquisitive young ladies and they discovered they were part of the children rescued and brought back to me. The couple had no idea that they bought their daughters from a human trafficker. Shawn went into private investigations after he got shot in the chest by an armed robber. I basically gave him no choice since he was only 29 when he died three times on the operating table. He agreed to my demands. He was hired by GEH soon afterward by mr Taylor. I think Mrs Anastasia Grey had something to do with that hiring. Our sons and daughters demanded he retire his badge. Luckily he was retired with full benefits and full retirement pay because he couldn't go back to work because his heart was too damaged. We have to have him get regular check ups until they replaced his heart finally. 
Christian 
Jason let me know that detective Clark was in a shooting and is at the hospital. Anastasia and I get dressed and head to the hospital along with Gail and Jason. The children have chose to spend Christmas in New York this year after handling all the overseas GEH business for the last year. All four of our children are working for GEH and Anastasia and I have combined our companies into one mega company. Barney and his little computer geniuses are part of how we grew to be so huge. He makes money on the same level as I did when we first met. Mia has became international and she has food distributors of her own recipes all over the world. She has people do her bidding at this point. Barney and Mia are in New York as well, they needed a break. Ann Lane is the reason for the break. She set her sites on Barney and nearly caused a divorce until Mia caught on to her schemes. It included damaging my marriage next. She was hired to take GEH down with divorces and scandals. Neither of us couples had prenuptial agreements and would lose half of everything and leave us vulnerable to a hostile takeover. He plans were uncovered by a few people and programs that identified weaknesses in our structures. We blindsided her and wrote up agreements to keep the companies together even if we divorced we would not divide assets or properties. We started showing people we were not divorcing and both couples were no where near to divorcing and uncovered Alice Lane as a corporate spy along with a huge liar. She is facing trials and she has her assets frozen along with being sued for defamation. The photos were proven to be fake immediately. Robert helped arrest her and her husband. Alex Lane is now trying to say it was all Alice's idea. He threw her under the bus. We know it isn't Emerson behind this human trafficking this time, unless he faked his death in prison. That was so very long ago and I doubt anyone helped him escape. 
Elliott
Gia and I are sitting here waiting with everyone. The Kavanagh family are all here but Eamon and Jewel. They are probably reporting the news at this point. Ethan's children are here with him. His wife died of cancer three years ago Christmas Eve. It was another horrible day. Gia was her best friend and it hit her hard. She needed to grieve the loss of Amber after knowing her for so long. They went to school together since first grade. She was there for Gia when no one else was. 
Gia
I hug Ethan and then Kate, this is a horrible time for us all. There are police off duty asking if we need anything and making sure Kate is okay. Detective Robert Clark was implemental in shutting down several human trafficking operations in the Seattle area. He also helped assist in getting the victims and their children back together. All our children have been raised in this area and they went to college together. They also attended schools together at one point. They have dated as well. That was something else, but they were old enough to date by that time. 
Anastasia 
I roll my wheelchair over to Kate and I hug her and tell her we are praying for her. She hugs me and says thank you. I go back to where Christian is sitting and we wait for news of Robert. I think about the car accident and how it effected us all. I have had a great life, but a drunk driver took my ability to walk away from me. I had to stay strong for everyone. We lost more than my legs that day. We lost our two grandchildren. If only I had went back for my coat, I would not have been hit by that drunk driver. I only survived because my bodyguards got me out of the car before it exploded killing both boys at once. They could get to the car seats because the vehicle was totaled and they didn't hear crying. They saw things and refused to tell me what they saw that made them know the boys were dead prior to the explosion. That was a year ago. Cameron and Charles were Sarah's twin boys and I held her tightly and apologized to her for the deaths of her sons. It took six months for her to finally start living again. The boys were three months old. The drunk driver died at the scene. The doctors are definitely going to help me walk again. I am finally getting feeling back in my legs and feet. We definitely have had a lot happen these last years, but we have had so many good things happen as well. Christian and I funded a hospital for people who need care but have no money to pay for the care. Grace has became an intricate part of it all. She helped a lot with it. 
Dr Grunick 
We finally got the bullets out of the patient and stopped the bleeding, he started looking better. He is still critical, but he is stable at this point. I get washed up and changed scrubs and go speak with the wife and family. The nurse follows me carrying the chart. Dr Grey shows me the wife and I recognize her. I go tell her about her husband and she can't see him until he is in the ICU and only a short time. He is touch and go at this point, but he won't be going back to work after this shooting. Even if I order it I can see his wife is not going to let him go back to work again.
