Chapter 11

                                    

                                          
I wake up to the feeling of someone leaning over me, and when I open my eyes I see Maddy smiling down at me.
“ Wake up sleepy head," she says.
“ Go away, I’ m really tired,"  I reply groggily. I got to bed really late because my mom found out about Noah and wouldn't stop quizzing me about him.
“ Come on, we’ re going out today, Fort Collins has missed you," she says pouting
"Fort Collins doesn't even know me,"  I reply, “plus Noah said he would come over today.”
“ Oh, um, he can come with," she says.
“Are you sure? I know you wanted today to be a girl's day out. I could cancel." 
"No, it's fine. This could be my chance to get to know him better," she reassures and I beam at her.
Evening comes and I’ m still in bed when I hear the doorbell, it must be Noah. I rush out of my bedroom and down the stairs to get the door but my mother already beat 
me to it. I pause nervously at the last step when she turns to me with a smile.
“Stephie, you didn’ t tell me your boyfriend was coming over” , she says.
“Uh, he's not staying long. We’ re actually to out with Maddy” , I said looking over at Noah, “ Can you wait here while I go change?”
“I could come up with you, if that’ s fine with you Mrs. Jones” , he says to my mum, hitting her with bright ass smile.
“Of course, just don’ t do anything I wouldn’t," she says and winks at us as she leaves the kitchen 
“ I like your mum," he says, laughing as we go upstairs. We get to my room and Noah 
immediately starts looking around as I go through my closet looking for what to wear. I settle for a grey hoodie, blue jeans and a converse sneaker. When I’ m done I look over at Noah who’ s laughing at a picture he was holding.
“ What are you laughing at?” I ask, walking over to him.
“ You were a funny looking baby” , he said, still laughing.
“ Ha-ha,"  I reply monotonously.  I roll my eyes as he stands up to wraps his arms around my waist.
“ But now, you’ re my beautiful baby," he says, burying his face in the crook of my neck.
“ How cheesy” , I say, pecking his cheek, “now let’ s go before Maddy kills us”

Maddy suggested that we meet at a new diner that opened up while I was away.  
She said they served the best pizza with the best toppings. It wasn’ t too hard to find because the sign was shining from almost a mile away. We got in and saw Maddy and Trevor in an argument, I looked over at Noah and he sighed. We got to the booth only to find out that they were arguing about the best toppings for pizza, pretty important 
argument if you ask me. After we settled in one of the booths, a waiter comes over to take our order and looks to me and Maddy, his gaze lingering on me for a while. I squirm uncomfortably and the Noah notices because I feel him tense but before he could do anything, Trevor takes a hold of the situation.
“ You gonna take our order dude?” he asks and I look over at Noah to see him scowling at the waiter guy.
“ Uh yes…what will I get you” , he asks but I feel the question was directed at me.
“Uh, I’ ll have a pizza with black olives and green pepper and so will he," I say and point at a still scowling Noah. I was happy about the fact that we both loved the same type of pizza. That brings one topic of argument off the table. The waiter writes down the order and leaves after Maddy and Trevor decide on what type of pizza they want.
“ If that guy stares at you when he gets back here, I’ m gonna break his face," Noah says.
“You’ ll do no such thing," I gasp at him and he narrows his eyes at me. The waiter guy 
arrives and instead of leaving as I hoped he would, he starts talking...to me.
