---------------

Chris had tried to run away before.

In his six year old little mind, getting a toy taken away was a heinous crime and he'd be a fool to accept such disrespect. So he got his tiny Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack, shoved in three shirts and a bunch of Power Rangers, and snuck three houses down to his friend's backyard.

Needless to say, he was gone for an hour but his mother had followed him and sat with his friend's mom in the house anyway. Mission failed... successfully?

However, this time was different. He would be completely alone this time. Not even Power Rangers could save him this time. He was really doing it this time.

Chris didn't even remember what the argument was first about. The only things he remembered were all three triplets yelling at each other. But it wasn't just an average rowdy sibling argument, no, it was harsh. Mean. They were attacking each other, but instead of punches and slaps, it was insults and betrayal of secrets.

Finally, with two door slams to finish it off, the house was silent. Matt and Nick had gone to their separate rooms, throats too dry and scratchy to keep screaming at one another.

That left Chris downstairs in a daze until an idea started to form in his mind and he stumbled up to his bedroom. He pulled an old backpack out of his closet and began packing. The backpack would be the only thing he took so he had to pack efficiently.

In the end, he had a good pack: Three changes of clothes. Phone charger. Toothbrush. Earbuds. A family photo. Then he shoved all the extra cash he could find into his wallet and shoved that into his pocket, along with his keys.

His door squeaked when it opened, making him wince as he snuck down the stairs.

In the kitchen he grabbed two apples, a bag of Fritos, and a bottle of water and Pepsi. Everything went into the backpack and he was ready.

Without another look back, Chris exited the house through the front door, shutting it softly behind him.

"Nick..."

"Nick, you have to wake up, Chris isn't here."

"Wha..."

"Chris isn't in the house, he's not in the car or outside. He's gone."

"Where did he go?"

"THAT'S WHAT I'M- oh my god..." Matt muttered, fuming at Nick.

Nick rolled his eyes. "Matt, you need to chill. He's probably at one of our friend's places. Have you called Madi?"

"I have called everyone and no one knows where he is," Matt explained desperately, trying to get Nick to understand the gravity of the situation.

He had gone down the hall to Chris's room to apologize for his portion of the fight, but when he opened the door, the room was empty of his brother. That was when he went on a frantic search around the house and even outside, but there was nothing.

Chris was gone.

Nick sat up, growing more concerned now. "Where's my phone? Let me call him," he said, lifting his blankets and feeling around for his phone. When he finally got it in his hands, he pressed Chris's familiar contact and held the phone up to his ear.
