--It wasn't very often that you got to visit bars with Law; most of your time was spent sailing the seas or fighting marines and other pirates. This island, however, was full of...mostly, kind people and wasn't affiliated with the world government.
There were no pirates. No marines. It was a nice break from the usual hectic life that you had as a pirate -- not that you hated being a pirate, but a break every once in a while is always good.
Laughter filled the bar, and for the most part, everyone was enjoying themselves; even Law, though he'd never admit it.
"Another bottle, please!" You ask, placing some money onto the counter. Your voice was slightly slurred from the alcohol you had, but you weren't drunk just yet.
The barista who was cleaning a cup placed it down on the counter, grabbing the cash. "Coming right up!" The barista turned and took another bottle from the shelves behind him, pouring it in a glass before sliding it to you.
You thanked the barista, sipping from the glass. You heard a 'tsk' from besides you. Turning to your left, you saw Law tapping his finger on his glass, a slight scowl on his face.
"Another, Y/N?" He grumbled, the sound of everyone's laughter drowning out the taps on his glass.
"C'mon, it's fine! You're drinking too.." you laughed, taking a big sip from the glass, placing it back down on the counter with a slight thud.
He rolled his eyes but didn't respond, letting out another 'tsk' as his scowl deepened.
A while of chatter and drinking continued, but Law chose to sit back and observe. The doors to the bar slammed open, revealing a tall man of muscular stature. He had a large sword slung over his shoulders and an intimidating, narcissistic smirk plastered on his face.
The bar went silent after the man's entrance, the only sound being of the clinks of the glass. Law's eyes narrowed, but he didn't act on his instincts just yet and ignored the weird feeling in his gut.
The man walked and sat on the stool besides you. "Get me the best damn booze you have," The man demanded, slamming his hand on the counter. The barista shook slightly, nodding quickly before going to get the booze.
He laughed at the baristas reaction, as if proud he could intimidate people so easily. Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin were angry at the man's behavior but they wouldn't act without their captains orders.
The man looked towards his left, towards you, eyeing you shamelessly. His eyes glimmered once he noticed that you didn't flinch or even acknowledge his presence, even though he was sure you noticed what he was doing.
Laws grip on his glass tightened, almost crushing it. He sent an intimidating glare to the man, but the man simply ignored it, his interest in you only increasing - he loved a good competition after all, and who would pick Law over such a tall, muscular man like him?
"Well aren't you a pretty one?" The man cooed, swirling the glass around. He lifted the drink to his lips, taking a big chug.
You ignored him once again, not even turning to look at him. The man felt himself growing irritated. He slammed his glass down, and it almost cracked.
"Hey, bitch. I'm talking to you," the man growled, gripping your wrist. His grip was so tight, it was definitely going to leave a mark.
You tried to move your hand but the man's raw strength was overwhelmed. His smirk widened and he held your wrist tighter, as if this all was amusing to him, as if it was all just a little game.
"C'mon, pretty. If you agree to one night with me I'll let you go," he cooed, his grip becoming stronger once more, and you're surprised your bone hasn't broken at this point. Before you could answer with a very, very rude comment, a voice was heard from your left.
"Room," Law seethed in pure anger. You snapped your head to look at him, your eyes widening at the sight of his cold ones. More cold than they usually were.
He moved his finger up, and the man's hand that was gripping your wrist was completely separated from his body. The man yelled in shock, his hold on you loosening. You grabbed his hand and through it across the bar. It hit the wall with a loud thud and the man groaned in pain. His hand may not be attached but he could still feel pain from it.
Law held up his sword to the man's neck, but the man felt like it was Law's sharp glare that was going to cut him; not the sword.
"W-Woah, let's calm down. I was just joking. Everyone's here to have a good time, right? So let's just relax," the man said, his voice shaking slightly. He gulped at the feeling of Laws sword pressing further onto his neck.
"Get the hell out," Law demanded. If he could, he would kill the man right now. But they were at a bar, and he didn't feel like making a mess, staining the stools with the man's blood.
Penguin picked up the man's hand from the floor and threw it to Law who easily caught it.
"C-Can I get my hand back?" The man pleaded, and Law almost snorted at his quick change in behavior.
Law didn't respond to the man's question, and the silence was answer enough. The man cursed under his breath and ran out of the bar. At least he was smart enough not to continue to fight back, or else his other hand would be gone too - maybe more.
Once the man left, you let out a sigh of relief, moving your hand in circles to make sure your wrist was okay. Law placed the man's hand into a bag.
"You didn't have to protect me, you know," you chuckled, sending an awkward smile to Law.
His eyebrows furrowed. How could you go so far as to laugh after something like this? Was it the alcohol? You didn't seem to be drunk...yet.
"That man just pissed me off," Law grumbled, taking a seat back down on the stool, throwing the bag over his shoulder.
That, and he couldn't stand watching him flirt with you.
