The final whistle blew. It was 2-1 to FC Barcelona after the defender scored a header in the dying embers of the game leading her team to the finals. I collapse on the floor and let out the tears that instead of being happy, were the complete opposite. That's when I feel a soft hand grip on my shoulder so I lifted my head up to see the same exact defender looking into my eyes with a reassuring smile.
"You played great today, trying to get the ball of you was a mission" she laughs slightly making me smile "I heard you're rumored to join Barcelona at the transfer anyways no?"
"Uh..Yeah? Well I mean maybe it's not been finalized yet but a loan is what I need going forward so.." I reply wiping the tears from my tired eyes. She had a thick accent, half like mine although being in England meant I partially lost it.
"Well I'm Ona" she says
"I'm Ferdinand" I look to her teammates who look as if they want to celebrate with her, then I bring my eyes back to the brunette.
"It looks like your teammates want to celebrate with you; you don't have to stay with me if you don't want to" I say with a small smile but she shakes her head
"I think I'm alright here" she says and so I nod whilst she smiles at me and rubs my back before helping me up. I hug her and she tightly hugs me back before chatting to me some more about Barcelona. Then I decide it's best if I head to the locker room where the others are so I clear my throat.
"Será mejor que me vaya, adiós."
I best get going, good bye"Ok adiós amiga"
Okay, good bye friendI give one last smile before heading back to the changing rooms where I was greeted by a defeated atmosphere, all the girls had their head in their hands with tears streaming down. I clear my throat.
"Girls, this is apart of football and we can only learn from it, today we came just short and that's okay because there's always next season - not only that there is more trophies with our name on it that we need to get. Let this be a reminder that winning only comes from hard work." They all look at me and nod, of course I didn't have to say that but gosh I just needed anything to stop them from all becoming depressed because quite frankly no one will get no where if they give up. Marc comes up to me telling me the media want to speak and so I head out towards the room, on my way I see Ona celebrating with her teammates. She doesn't see me, but that's okay. At the end of the day some one has to win and it was her.

"Today wasn't how you planned it to go and my question for you is do you know what went wrong?""Nothing went wrong, we simply lacked composure on the pitch and we accept that, we all knew Barcelona is a top team and unfortunately we didn't have what it takes to beat them. We weren't the better team."
"Talking about Barcelona you have been approached by them for a seasonal loan, with an option for them to buy so do you think you'll accept?"
"If I were to be honest, I'm not sure. All I know is for now Manchester United Is my club and I will continue to put my all into it day in and day out for my teammates, myself and the fans. If I was to ever go I know I'd still support This team with my heart"
"Obviously being so young and so talented comes with a lot of pressure, do you feel like today that's what made you fall short of getting an equaliser?"
"No, I don't think so. Being a footballer you're going to have pressure on you but that's the point of the game, if you can't deal with it you're not made for it is what I believe. I should've scored a second to level the game or at least get an assist but I simply couldn't, Yet again Barcelona was the better team in both defending and attacking and we as a team accept that and we'll move on to other trophies"
I then say thank you and good bye before heading out back to the locker room to change and grab my stuff, I walk out with Ella and Alessia both sad from our loss. I hug them both quickly before saying a good bye, Alessia's ocean blue eyes filled with small tears, beneath them grew puffy and red. I wiped them away before doing the same with Ella
"You'll ruin your makeup!" I sarcastically whisper making them laugh before getting in my car and driving to my apartment excited to finally shower. Once I made dinner I sat on my grey sofa and thought to myself about what the Spanish defender had said about the move. What if I fail there? What if I'm never started? What if the girls don't like me? I answered the negative questions in my head and made my decision. I was going to join Barcelona and see what would happen, I know this might annoy a lot of fans but ultimately it's what's best for my career. I've been at United for 4 years now and it's time I head back to Spain and make a name for myself there before thinking about an actual move there. I call Marc hoping he'd answer.
