March: Logan's POV-
Rory was just a few weeks away from publishing 2 books at once. One was a fiction book for adults, separate from her 'Gilmore Girls' series, and the other was a children's book that she'd originally written for Tori about a cute little cow. So while she was at her meeting I got to spend some time with my favorite little girls. It was Saturday so everyone was home. I was in the kitchen making lunch for me and Tori, while also keeping an eye on everyone who was in the living room. Once the babies started smiling, it didn't take long for Tori to learn that if she laid on her tummy on the floor, while they were laying on their tummies, and she got her face really close to theirs and made some faces they'd smile.
Once lunch was ready, I fed and changed the babies, and put them down for their nap before Tori and I had lunch. She wanted to have a picnic and play candy land, so we were sitting on the kitchen floor, playing Candy land while we ate broccoli and mini pizza bagels.
"Why does broccoli look like trees?" Tori asked
"I don't know" I said. "Is that why you like it so much?"
"Yeah because I like trees, and they're pretty, and broccoli is like little trees but you get to eat it" she said. "And also the babies can't eat it because they can only have milk, because they're babies"
"Right"
Rory's POV-
When I got home from my meeting with my publisher, Logan and Tori were sitting on the floor in the kitchen. "Hi mommy"
"What's going on?" I asked. Sitting on the kitchen floor and playing Candy land while eating lunch was not a usual occurrence.
"We're having a Candy land picnic" Tori said
"I wasn't sure when you'd be home but I made you bagel bites" Logan said
"Thank you" I said and leaned down to kiss him.
"How was your meeting?"
The meeting was great. I had 2 new books coming out within the next 2 months. The first was a fiction book, unrelated to the 'Gilmore Girls' series. It would be coming out at the end of that month. But the one I was extra excited for was Tori's book 'Baby Cow' which would be coming out in 3 weeks, in April. When she was about 18 months old I wrote a book for her, about her favorite thing (it was still one of her favorite things). Cows. It was Tori's favorite story and I told it to her every single night. She didn't know that I was making it into a real book, and she didn't know that she actually helped with it. The book was called 'Baby Cow' because that's what Tori called the story. And a few weeks before this day, I'd asked her to draw what she thought all the characters looked like. I took the drawings to an illustrator and we worked to illustrate the book the way that Tori imagined it. I don't think I couldn't have been more excited for this book if I tried. "It was great. The book is coming out in a week. March 30th. And the other thing (Tori's book that she didn't know about) will be out in 3 weeks on April 12th"
"That's great" Logan said.
I sat with them on the floor for a little while until we heard one of the babies crying.
"It's Willow" I said. I have no idea how, but I could always tell who was crying. They just sounded different to me.
"You seriously have to tell me how you do that" Logan said
"I would if I could" I laughed as I went to get Willow. One of the best feelings in the world (if you ask me) is when your baby gets a little older and when they see you they stop crying and smile. "Hi smiley" I said as I picked Willow up. I brought her back out to where Logan and Tori were.
