"I made three demo tracks for you guys to listen to. This way, you can choose the one you prefer, and I'll focus on refining it later," Jihoon announced with a hint of enthusiasm, spinning on his chair to face the five friends gathered in his cozy yet cluttered studio. The room was filled with musical equipment, posters, and a faint smell of coffee and old books. He shifted his eyes, locking onto Scoups, who was lounging comfortably beside his boyfriend, gently patting his hair with an affectionate smile. Jihoon's expression turned puzzled as he continued, "But what are you even doing here?" His tone carried a slightly accusatory edge, as he raised an eyebrow, awaiting an explanation.
"I came to support my best friend, but I guess you're just being a jerk," Scoups retorted, pouting theatrically as he crossed his arms. Jihoon could only roll his eyes in response, clearly unimpressed by the dramatics. "You just wanted to be with Hannie hyung. Come on, don't lie, hyung," Seungkwan piped in, his tone playful yet tinted with wistfulness. Despite his jest, there was a clear hint of disappointment in his voice. He was visibly upset that Vernon couldn't join them for the outing, much less accompany him. Yet, understanding the circumstances, he did not hold any resentment toward Vernon, knowing that he had some family matters to deal with.
Seokmin, oblivious to Seungkwan's foul mood, appeared ready to pounce and tease his friend, but Joshua swiftly stepped in and held him back. Joshua was well aware that Vernon was grappling with some personal issues and didn't want to exacerbate the situation. With a calm and composed demeanor, Joshua then rose from his seat and moved to sit beside Seungkwan. He leaned in slightly, his voice soft and comforting, "Don't worry, Vernon will be alright. He's strong, you know?" Seungkwan, though still troubledanaged to nod and muster a small smile, feeling a sense of solace from Joshua's words.
"So, bitches, Let's get started," Seungkwan suddenly yelled, jumping up from the couch with infectious enthusiasm that filled the entire room. "Hell yeah," Seokmin chimed in, clearly catching the energetic vibe and joining the impromptu party with equal fervor. "Yah, your mom is sitting here with you, and y'all are shouting bitches," Jeonghan tried to interject, raising his hands in an attempt to calm the chaos, but his attempt at scolding them came out weak and was met with a chorus of laughter that echoed around the living room. Meanwhile, Jihoon ignored the commotion and started typing furiously on his pc, trying to locate the right folder that contained their project files.
"Hey hyung, why do you always wear that bracelet?" Seokmin asked, pointing at the simple yet elegant piece adorning Jihoon's wrist, his curiosity evident in his eyes. "That's from his grandpa," Seungcheol answered before Jihoon could, his voice carrying a touch of gentle reverence. "He has great taste indeed," Seokmin remarked, studying the bracelet more closely, noticing the intricate patterns that caught the light just right. "Yeah, he did," Jihoon exhaled softly, a shadow of melancholy crossing his face as memories from the past surfaced. For a moment, the room fell silent, the kind of silence that was heavy with emotions, as if no one dared to break it, the kind where even the drop of a pin would echo loudly.
