In the past year, some things had definitely changed for Izuku.

After he was diagnosed as 'quirkless', certain words struck him harder than they should've. The doctor's especially. Those words echoed in his mind on loop, always reminding him that he couldn't be a hero.

For a long while, he had thought he couldn't be a hero, especially with his lack of a quirk. It was simply impossible and unthought of.

Though, soon enough, a light started to brighten up at the end of the tunnel.

"Izuku, you can be a hero, quirk or no quirk!"

Aizawa had said he could be a hero. Someone believed in him. Someone genuinely thought that he could be a hero.

"I can be a hero?"

Aizawa and Yamada had left a while ago, leaving Kayama in charge. Nemuri Kayama, also known as the R-Rated Hero: Midnight, was Hizashi and Shota's friend throughout high school. They had her babysit Izuku a couple times when they were both on the same patrol schedule.

Izuku ran upstairs, hiding in his wardrobe. He sat down in a messy pile that was hidden in the corner, covering himself up with strewn shirts. They were playing hide and seek, Nemuri being the seeker like always.

"Where are you?~" Her voice sang out as the sound of her footsteps grew closer.

Izuku giggled, his laughter contagious in this little family he'd been accepted into.

She'll never find me!

Pounding footsteps edged closer, until the sound stopped outside the bedroom door, his breathing being the only thing audible. He shuffled further backwards into the corner, determined to be hidden from the seeker.

"Oh, I wonder where you are, Zuku!"

Izuku laughed again, trying his best to stifle it. He was sure that Nemuri wouldn't find him in the mess of clothes they called a wardrobe. It was impossible for her to find him in his ever-growing tower of clothes.

Yet, his confidence was drained when suddenly, the cupboard door swung open.

"Found you!" She picked up the greenette, hugging him slightly tight.

Izuku pouted. He was so sure that she wouldn't find him. The wardrobe was supposed to be the best hiding spot. His fathers had never found him there when they played.

The small click of the door opening was almost missed through Nemuri's squealing.

"Dada and Papa are back!" The greenette said as he freed himself from her grasp.

He raced down the stairs, leaving a very sad Nemuri alone in the bedroom. He was excited to see his parents for one of two reasons. He wanted to ask so many questions about their patrols. What villains did they catch? What heroes did they see? Was there any villain attacks?

He was always excited to ask questions. Especially about their hero work. It was just so much better when he heard about all the villains they fought and their new hero moves and what heroes they had encountered on their patrol.

At some point, Yamada had bought him a notebook which was currently titled "Hero Analysis For The Future: Volume 1". Every page in there was filled with information gained just by hearing about or watching a hero fight. He loved analysing them, every fight making his eyes sparkle in delight. Though his first notebook was already nearly full, so he'd have to ask his father for more eventually.

But as he skipped down the stairs, he stopped in his tracks on the last step, the excitement threatening to leave his body.

A purple-headed boy was in Yamada's arms, the unknown boy's head resting on the blonde's shoulder. Aizawa ruffled the child's hair, not noticing the confused greenette on the stairs. The purple-headed boy laughed in response, slowly wrapping his hand around Hizashi's finger.
