Turning away from him, I heard a knock at the door, and I moved to open it up. A guard was waiting on the other side of it, looking perplexed.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"We have someone at the border- a young woman. She claims she wants to speak with whoever is in charge," he stated, eyeing up Dylan as he rounded the corner into the front room.

"I'll sort it," he muttered. "Matthew, stay here with Dean. Jared, come with me."

I nodded, following Dylan and the guard across the field, narrowing my eyes at a few of the people that passed us. They were being nosy, and stopped and stared in worry that something was going on.

I was concerned who it was that was going to be at the border. It wasn't going to be Amelia. The guards knew her scent and what she looked like. I was hoping it was something that was going to lead us to Anna, but I didn't want to get my hopes up too much. This person could be completely unrelated to our current situation.

We pushed past a few shrubs and winded around some trees, more guards coming into view. They stood, crowding around some small black haired woman, someone that I didn't recognise.

The power that radiated off her made me realise that she was supernatural, but I couldn't pin point what exactly she was. She was dressed in tatty looking clothes, her long robe split. It looked as if she had been running.

"Is one of you the Alpha?" the woman asked, and Dylan nodded, crossing his arms over his chest as he studied her.

"Yes, who are you? We don't take kindly to unannounced visitors," Dylan spoke, his lips set in a fine line.

"Excuse me for that, but my name is Ruth. I'm a witch, and I recently got myself into a little trouble with one of your ex pack mates. Her name is Amelia."

My ears perked up, and I cocked my head as Dylan hummed. "Go on."

"Right, well around a year ago, Amelia saved my young sister from rogues out in the wild. She told me I owed her, and a couple of weeks ago, she came to collect the debt," Ruth spoke, puffing her chest out confidently. "She wanted me to mask her scent around the area. Thinking nothing of it, I did it, but I've come to realise that she had ulterior motives. She used my favour to hurt innocent people, and I've come to let you know out of good will. It needs to be set right."

Dylan looked frustrated, but he remained calm. "Okay, and when you say innocent people, who do you mean? Do you have any names for us?"

"I don't, I'm afraid," Ruth spoke. "But witches I know have spotted her in a cabin near their home out of town. There's a young girl there along with an older woman. Apparently they're being held there against their will and they've heard some screams coming from inside."

I released a growl. Amelia was hurting Anna.

Ruth took a step back from me, and I had to reassure her that my anger wasn't directed at her. She had simply just been doing a favour for Amelia and she wasn't aware that she was going to harm people with the help of her magic.

"We believe the young girl you are talking about is Jared's mate," Dylan explained, causing Ruth to nod her head.

"I see. Well, I can only apologise for my involvement. I'm embarrassed that I was taken advantage of in such a way, but my little sister is my pride and joy. Amelia threatened to kill her if I didn't give her something in return. My sister cannot defend herself. She hasn't grown into her magic yet and having a target on her back isn't something we want at all. Amelia would be able to snap her neck in the blink of an eye."

I nodded in understanding. I felt sick. They were close. They hadn't moved too far away yet. However, it wouldn't be long until they did go. Staying around the area was risky, even if they were hours away. Wolves could travel fast and Amelia knew that we would be coming to save Anna.

"We need to get people to that cabin now," I said, turning to Dylan who nodded in agreement.

"We'll get guards there as soon as we can. Ruth, do you know the exact location of this cabin? It's very important."

Ruth looked hesitant, taking a step backwards and shaking her head. "I don't want anymore involvement. I've done my part by telling you, but if I get involved anymore, my family may be threatened. I can't do that just for the wolves. I'm sorry."

I wheeled forwards, shaking my head and growling. "It's your magic that helped Amelia get in and out of the town without being smelt. So technically, you're already involved. Until it's fixed, you'll be the reason why Amelia was able to get away with what she did."

What I was saying made me feel guilty, but I didn't care. I had to guilt Ruth to get her to give us the location of the cabin. I needed to save Anna and I was going to be selfish and put her before everyone else.

Ruth blew out a gust of air. "I won't be tricked into putting my family at risk. I didn't even have to come here to inform you of this, so you should be grateful."

The conversation was becoming heated, and Dylan stepped forwards, holding his hands out defensively.

"Let's not make an issue here when we don't need to," he said. "All we ask if that you give us the location of the cabin. We won't mention your name and we don't expect you to fight with us. You can tell us and leave. No one will have to know."

Ruth hummed. "Amelia will have a way of finding out who gave away the location of the cabin. Witches live near the cabins and she'll hurt them."

"Not if we kill her," I told her, causing Dylan to look at me with raised brows.

I knew that people probably didn't expect me to really want Amelia dead. Although we were no longer mates, we had been once. However, that didn't mean a single thing to me. She was a stranger. I knew nothing about her and I wanted nothing more than for her to die.

"She'll die?" Asked Ruth, seeming to want to clarify with me.

"Yes," I told her. "I'll kill her myself I I have to."
