IT WAS THE NEXT DAY AND Theodora was up earlier than she expected to be. She did her morning routine and decided that she would get some songwriting done since she hadn't done much since she got to camp. The Porter girl asked Ricky if she could borrow his acoustic guitar for a little while and he said yes. Theo went down to where the canoes, which were by the lake, and decided to do some writing.
"Excuse me?" Jet's voice sounded. "Have you seen this girl? She has great hair and the world's most amazing smile."
Theo looked over her shoulder. "I don't know her, but she sounds cute though." They shared a laugh.
Jet knelt on the canoe, "You know just five more feet and you'll be in the water."
"Speak for yourself, Moody's Mood."
"I'm not afraid of water."
"Yeah, and I'm related to Beyoncé." Theo playfully rolled her eyes.
"Okay. Why don't we get in one of these things and you can tell me." Jet smiled at her.
"Alright," Theo said, setting down the guitar. "But if I get my sneakers wet, you're paying the bill to get them cleaned."
"Just take them off," Jet said, taking off his leather jacket.
"And let them get dirty?"
"You are so high maintenance."
Jet laughed as he went to the other side of the canoe and they lifted the boat and turned it around then pushed it towards the water. The Porter girl kicked off her shoes and left them by the guitar and her songbook. She then went back to the boat and pushed it into the water then jumped inside the canoe. Jet handled her paddle and then started paddling down the lake. They didn't get too far down because rehearsals were soon and they didn't want to be late.
