Shadow was breathing softly as he was resting peacefully on the beanbag getting some deserved rest. Down on the lower floor Rouge was quietly watching Tails and Amy talk to each other, during this time Knuckles finally woke up and the three were chatting away. Rouge calmly just watched with her arms crossed. 
She looked up at the attic door and focused on the door to see if she could still hear shadow shuffling around up there, but when she heard nothing a small smile formed on her face. 
Good...
She thought to herself before she looked over at the three again. She decided to sit down leaned back and just listened. Knuckles was angrily bickering about the fight with Amy and Tails felt awkward discussing the fight. He decided to go into his workshop and work on something for the time being. The 4 occupied themselves for the rest of the day. A new day rolled in, the morning was met with another storm, just a gentle rainstorm that moved through the area.
Shadow was asleep on the bean bag however, his ear began to twitch the consistent sound of rain hitting the tin roof slowly woke the black hedgehog from his slumber. Shadow slowly opened his eyes and grunted slightly. Holding his head he slowly rolled over and looked up at the roof. The sound wasn't too loud but it was enough to catch his attention. 
Shadow looked at the bandages he had on himself staring for a while at his wounds. Soon his gaze slowly fell onto Sonic who was sleeping in the hammock. Shadow slowly got up and stretched out with a low yawn. As he stretched his arms shook slightly as he got a good stretch out. Shadow slightly shook his head to wake himself up a bit more. 
He slowly walked over to the mirror Sonic had and began to brush back his quills. He brushed his hand back and took some time for himself to clean up his appearance. Fixing misplaced quills, pulling out broken quills that ruined the sleek texture he already had. He moves down to brush down the messy fur on his body with his hand. A low hum left the hedgehog as he took the time to take care of himself. 
Soon he stopped and looked at himself in the mirror before smiling slightly nodding to himself as he felt his appearance was much more acceptable in his eyes. Shadow looked over at the hammock again and walked over to Sonic. Shadow carefully took his own glove off and held it as he quietly brought his bare hand near Sonic's neck to check his pulse.
 Shadow quietly stood there and when he felt a pulse he decided to count to see what his heart rate was at. Shadow soon pulled his hand away and put his glove back on. 
Good, He seems to be pretty stable. 
Shadow thought to himself before a low sigh left Shadow. " What the hell am I going to do with you.." he spoke softly as he looked at Sonic. He thought for a bit before looking over his shoulder at the shut attic door. His eyes fell back onto Sonic again. 
He took a slow breath he relaxed his body more as he lidded his eyes. Shadow began to carefully fix Sonic's quills himself. He carefully brushed Sonic's quills back and removed any broken quills while he did this. Shadow was slow and careful with his movements to make sure to not disturb Sonic while he rested. 
Shadow couldn't see Sonic's mouth due to the pillow he was sleeping on, however, Sonic had formed a smile while Shadow was doing this.  Once he got Sonic in a little bit better-looking shape, he moved to check Sonic's wounds making sure they were healing okay. While Shadow was looking at one of Sonic's wounds, Sonic shifted and moved slightly.
