JUNGWON'S POV

AFTER GETTING READY, we stepped outside and joined our classmates in the field. Laughter and excitement filled the air as everyone chatted and prepared for the day's activities. However, I couldn't ignore the fact that Jurin's friend group and mine were separated, leaving us feeling a little out of place since we had been paired up with different people.

Sensing Jurin's unease, I stayed close to her, offering a reassuring smile. She glanced at me, a sheepish expression on her face, and I knew she appreciated the support, even though we used to dislike each other.

As the field game began, we found ourselves side by side, occasionally making eye contact to acknowledge each other's presence.

The game was a relay race, a fun and simple activity. Jurin and I happened to be partners since we arrived at the field last. The girls went first, running towards the boys and handing them a metal pipe to carry to the finish line.

I turned to Jurin as the teacher explained the rules. My eyes traveled down her body and to her ankle.
"Jurin don't overdo it okay?" I stated with an uneasy tone. She turned to me because looking down at her ankle.
"I'm fine, it hearted pretty fast." She stated before listening back to the teacher.

As we got settled into our respective spaces we waited for the race to start. Our classmates gave us words of encouragement.

Jurin stood at the start, exchanging soft smiles with her friends. When she turned away from them, her gaze met mine. Her eyes were full of determination, silently urging me to try my hardest and win.
As Jurin and I exchanged determined glances, silently encouraging each other to give our best, our classmates cheered for us.

As the countdown began, she got into position, and I kept my eyes on her.

"Go!" The teacher exclaimed, blowing the whistle. Jurin reacted quickly, running with all her might. Despite her small stature, she ran impressively fast.

I cheered for her as she maintained the lead, not falling behind at all. Eventually, she caught up to me and handed me the pipe. I took off, pushing myself to the limit. Sweat trickled down my face due to the heat, but thankfully we had both chosen comfortable attire. The weather had been unpredictable lately, changing from cold to hot.

Running alongside me, Niki challenged me with a cocky smile, adding an extra element of competition to the game.
"Get ready to be beaten hyung," Niki stated confidently, giving me a smirk.

I smirked in response, running faster.
Jurin and I exchanged knowing looks, our connection growing stronger with each passing moment.

With the finish line just ahead, Niki and I crossed it simultaneously, leaving everyone on edge, eager to know who emerged as the victor.

Jurin, panting heavily, hurried over to the camera positioned near the finish line. She bent down, quickly reviewing the footage in search of a clear answer.

As the tension built, even Niki seemed uncertain. Everyone held their breath, anxiously anticipating the outcome. I observed Jurin's struggle to make sense of the footage, and I knelt down beside her, lending a helping hand with the camera. A soft smile graced her lips as she appreciated my assistance.

As her eyes scrutinized the playback, a gasp escaped her lips. Her eyes lit up with excitement as she noticed my shoes crossing the finish line a fraction of a second before Niki's.

"Team Wonrin wins!" she exclaimed happily, jumping up and down. I couldn't help but feel a blush creeping onto my cheeks as she combined our names. Her excitement was contagious, and I couldn't help but smile.

In a surprising move, Jurin pulled me into a hug, and after a moment of hesitation, I hugged her back, enjoying the warmth of the embrace. She released me, still beaming with joy, and handed me a towel and her water bottle, showing her care and support.

"Thanks, Rin," I said with a grin, taking a refreshing sip from her water bottle as she wiped the sweat off my face. I couldn't help but be captivated by her beautiful features—her brown beady eyes that I could easily get lost in, her shiny brown locks cascading down, her slightly flushed cheeks, and that radiant smile that kept me enchanted by her beauty. Mesmerized by her presence, I stood there silently, watching her as she gently dabbed away the sweat on my face.

Suddenly, Niki noticed my distraction and let out a laugh, playfully nudging my shoulder and snapping me out of my reverie. "What's going on in that mind of yours, hyung?" he teased, his voice filled with amusement.

"Nothing, shut up," I replied, attempting to playfully punch his arm, but he skillfully dodged it and ran over to Heeseung. Irritated, I clicked my tongue and turned my attention back to a beaming Jurin. She had finished tending to me and looked at me with pride in her eyes.

During a break in the game, Jurin leaned in closer, speaking softly. "I'm glad you're here with me, Jungwon. It feels nice to have someone by my side."

A warmth spread through my chest, and I couldn't help but smile back at her. "I feel the same way, Jurin. We make a great team, don't we?"

She nodded, her cheeks tinged with a rosy blush. "Yeah, we do."

As the game continued, Jurin and I continued to support each other, finding comfort in our shared presence. Despite the initial separation from our friend groups, it seemed that fate had brought us together, allowing our bond to flourish amidst the lively atmosphere of the field.

Surrounded by classmates and laughter, I came to realize that the connection Jurin and I were building was truly special. As we engaged in the field game, I couldn't help but hope that this relationship would endure beyond this day, leading us to even more exciting adventures together.
