They could feel the crisp air as autumn had just begun. Kara held Lois in her arms as she flew them as the sun was setting. Lois looked around in awe as Kara smiled brightly. They flew for some time without saying a word to each other.

After a long silence, Lois said, "It is so beautiful up here, Kara. It must feel trapped and slow traveling in cars. Why not just fly us everywhere we need to go?"

Kara smiled sympathetically as she replied, "True, cars are much slower and cramped, and it is easier to just fly everywhere." Kara paused before she continued. "But I have an alter ego to hide my true identity. You do not. Besides, I really like riding in your cool car with you."

Lois blushed before she realized that they had been traveling for some time and was curious as she said, "We have been flying for some time now. Where are we going?"

Kara smiled as she replied, "It's a secret, Miss Lane."

Lois became even more curious as she said, "Come on, Smallville. Just a little hint."

Kara shook her head and smiled brightly as she replied, "Nope, if I let you know even the slightest of hints, then it wouldn't be a surprise."

Lois smiled as she waited to see where they were going. Soon, Kara started to fly downwards towards a clearing between some trees. She could see the area carefully lit up by torches and candles. As they got closer to the ground, Lois could see a blanket and what looked like a picnic basket. Lois blushed as she realized that Kara had secretly planned a romantic date for them to watch the sun set, see the stars come out, and have no one interfere with their alone time. In no time, Kara landed softly on the grass. She gently let Lois down to stand beside her. They held hands as they walked towards the picnic blankets. When they got to the picnic blanket, Lois sat down as Kara went over to the picnic basket and opened it. She pulled out a wreath made from purple and blue flowers and placed it gently on Lois' head. Lois smiled shyly as she felt her face heat up. Kara sat down near the picnic basket and pulled out food and drinks. She handed a drink to Lois before she made them their plates. They ate and talked about different things until they had eaten all of the food. Lois leaned against Kara as Kara wrapped her arms gently around her. Lois sighed happily as she enjoyed Kara's warmth and embrace.

Lois finally said, "This has been a perfect and romantic date, Kara. Thank you." Lois paused before she continued. "I don't understand how you found the time to set all of this up without me knowing it."

Kara gently laughed before she replied, "You're welcome, Lois. I am pretty fast, and you can't keep your eyes on me all of the time."

Lois smiled and felt safe, wrapped in Kara's arms as they watched the stars twinkle into view. Lois suddenly remembered that the Homecoming game was less than a week away and that also meant that the Homecoming dance was also coming.

Lois said, "I know that we haven't discussed it yet, but the Homecoming game and dance are next Friday. I know that you have to go to the game, but did you want us to go to the homecoming dance together?"

Kara frowned as she replied, "It is true that I will go to the Homecoming game. I thought that we would skip the dance."

Lois was shocked as she turned sideways in Kara's embrace and asked, "Why don't you wanna go? We only get to experience this once every year in high school."

Kara looked sad as she replied, "If I tell them that I am going, they will probably elect me as the homecoming queen and some football jock as the homecoming king. Then, I will have to spend the entire night listening to his lame football stories or jokes. I would whether just spend the entire night with you." Kara noticed that Lois looked down sad before she continued. "Listen, I will think about it and let you know by Sunday. Okay?"
