"The mask was developed by the smartest among them, Kars," Lisa Lisa explained as she turned away from the sea and looked over at the two boys while keeping a hand on her hip.
You leaned back with both of your elbows on the railing. "Kars and the others are looking for a special stone called Superaja," you added and watched how Suzie Q quickly appeared at Lisa Lisa's exclamation of her name with a broad smile on her face. "Here it is." she said, holding a small pillow in her hands with the thing on it that the three pillar men craved the most.
Lisa Lisa thanked the blonde girl and took the red stone from her as she presented it to her two apprentices, demonstrating the power of the Superaja by letting a few rays of sunlight through it, causing a laser beam that left a large hole in the ground.
The Pillar Men started a Hamon War over this, but the Superaja escaped them. As a strong Hamon user, Lisa Lisa guarded the stone.
You watched the boys in front of you attentively and saw the angered emotions in their faces. There was a tense mood in the air, but that was to be expected. After all, they were presented with the cause for which their grandparents and many others had to die. The masks were created primarily because of this stone and dragged everyone who longed for their power to their doom, even the people around them.
Joseph pointed annoyed to the Superaja in Lisa Lisa's hand. "Destroy it!" he ordered her as if he had deciphered the solution to this century old problem in just a second. "Destroy the red stone! When it's destroyed, they'll howl like little babies." he repeated again.
"No way." you shot that idea down from him in a flash and took the necklace with the Superaja from Lisa Lisa's hand. "Even though the idea sounds appealing, this is not going to happen."
"Why not?!" exclaimed JoJo angrily.
"Well, there is a legend that says that they can't be defeated without the stone. You can think of it as our trump card or something," you tried to explain to him while also trying to convince yourself of the matter.
If you had to be honest, you kind of agreed with Joseph. Destroying the stone would certainly solve more problems than causing them, at least in your opinion. Unfortunately, Lisa Lisa was strictly against this idea from the beginning, and you had promised her at that time that you wouldn't do anything to the stone that could even cause the slightest damage.
Even if you had a guilty conscience about preserving the stone, you didn't care enough to destroy it along with Elizabeth's trust.
Joseph stood up straight. "And what the hell does this legend say exactly?" he asked, to which you could only shrug your shoulders. That only made him more upset.
"Don't hold it against her JoJo." Lisa requested. "I'm just doing my duty as the protector of the stone, and it was my decision to trust that this stone will be of great help to us in the future."
