Miguel O'Hara was 22 when he started studying Business Economics at the University. He had a goal: become an important and powerful person.
This was the only thing he had in mind. In fact he started studying seriously, not making himself distracted by other things or people. Just study.
But one people made him completely distracted. Angel Fernández.

Miguel was not sure how he fell for her. He met her thanks to a group of friends at the University.
Even if he was focused on his studies, it wasn't clear how she got his attention. Her way of acting, of moving, of thinking and explaining her ideas. All these things together made Miguel feel something, deep in his heart.
It wasn't the first time Miguel ever fell for someone. But surely he knew this woman was perfect for him.

They spent years knowing each other, hanging out, with the group and alone, having coffee sometimes. They grew up really close, till she confessed to him.
Miguel was surprised when she spoke directly to him and said <<I find myself irresistibly drawn to your captivating presence. I really like you, Miguel.>>.
They were hanging out together, going to get food for their friends, when she said that to him. He was stunned by her kind and warm words. Actually, he wanted to confess to her first, but she was faster.
Eventually they became a couple, and everyone were happy about it. Their friend group already knew there was some tension between them both. Both Miguel's parents and Angel's parents were happy of their romantic relationship. After all, Angel was a funny and smart girl, Miguel was a serious and loyal man.
But something happened.
Miguel finished University and he applied to a job, when suddently Angel came to him with something in her hands. A positive test.

<<It wasn't supposed to happen. But it did happen.>> Angel said to her fiancèe, as Miguel was startled by the new.
But he didn't take himself back.
He just grabbed her lover's hands, kissing them and promising <<I will always be by your and the baby's side. It's a promise, mi amor.>>

And he wasn't lying. Miguel started working seriously, demonstrating unwavering commitment and a strong work ethic that propelled him towards remarkable achievements. And meanwhile he took care of his pregnant fiancèe and of the baby. Also he got busy, spending part of his money in diapers, blankets, bottle warmers, swaddle blanket, cute shirts, car seat, stroller and a crib.
He noticed how Angel's belly started growing, and he was getting more and more excited about it.
But Angel had other plans.

After 9 months, Angel gave birth to this beautiful little girl, with adorable curls cascading down in rich brown hues, her big brown eyes sparkling with curiosity and wonder. Her face radiated joy, adorned with a beaming smile that could light up the entire world.
When she gave birth to her, Miguel stayed next to her fiancèe for the entire time without leaving her, even for a second.
When they met their little girl, Miguel was crying of joy for this little and joyful creature.
But just then, the baby girl started crying. She was starving. In fact, Angel made the nurse prepare a bottle of milk for the little baby. Miguel was confused by her action, didn't she had to feed her? But he didn't stop her, it was her choice after all.
But it all stopped when she said to Miguel <<I don't want to be a mother. And I don't want this baby to be attached to me.>> she admitted, as Miguel's happy expression changed.
All the plans they made together, they were thrown away like garbage. And also their romantic relationship ended.

From that day on, she didn't want him to text her, call her or any way to hear any news from him.
Miguel was found himself alone, with a three days old daughter in his arms, outside the hospital. Miguel felt himself broken, lost and unhappy. The little girl in his arms, instead, was smiling happily to see her father's face. It wasn't important if he was happy, sad, hurted. She would always look at him with curiosity and admiration.
Miguel first thought was to leave her daughter to an orphanage, giving her the possibility to have an happy family.
He didn't felt enough for her.
Suddently an old couple passed, observing Miguel <<What a beautiful baby you have, sir.>> the old lady complimented him. Miguel just raised his head, looking from the baby, to the old lady's face. He sighed, then he nodded <<Thank you, Ma'am.>>.
The old man next to her, nodded with a smile <<Your baby must be really lucky with a young father like you. It allows you to bring energy, enthusiasm, and a fresh perspective to the parenting journey.>>
The old woman nodded to her husband <<Yes that's right.>>
As they said that, something in Miguel fixes. He feels better, maybe a bit more brave than before. Now all his thoughts of how would he ever take care of a baby, if he would ever be good, if his daughter would ever love him, disappeared. Now his only thought was just to be the best father ever, to make his daughter happy, radiant as the sun, and never let her down.

<<By the way, what's her name?>> The old lady's voice made him snap into reality again, as he looked lovingly at his daughter.
She was his strenght now, he knew and felt it <<Her name is Gabriella.>>
At this phrase, his daughter smiled a bit in her sleep, cradled by her father's big warm arms.
