You were the best, but you were the worst
As sick as it sounds, I loved you first
I was a dick, it is what it is
A habit to kick, the age-old curse
I tend to laugh whenever I'm sad
Stare at the crash, it actually works
Making amends, this shit never ends
I'm wrong again, wrong again
I love you, I'm sorry

Lizzie couldn't sleep that night, she was so used to sleep next to Kaiden and now she had returned to her old bedroom, she tossed and turned until she heard a knock on her door before it cracked open. For a moment she hoped it'd be her husband but it wasn't. It was her brother making her sigh heavily knowing what he wanted to talk about and she was just exhausted.

"Kai gave me this." He closed the door behind him and approached her as she frowned in confusion. "I think you need it now more than ever."

"My bracelet." She sighed in relief as he sat down next to her clasping the bracelet around her wrist. "He knows."

"Yeah... he just found out too." He informed her squeezing her hand gently with a forced smile. "I barely remember our father but I think he loved us."

"They say he loved our mother... did he not?" She asked him with furrowed eyebrows and he shrugged.

"I don't know anymore... I think he respected her but apparently he respects Valentine more." He revealed with an apologetic look and she chuckled bitterly. "Have you seen a picture of her?"

"No... I never did." She said sadly and he pulled out his phone and scrolled through his photos until he reached a picture of their mother holding his sister.

"You have her blue eyes." Lizzie remarked zooming the picture. They didn't lie though, the resemblance was uncanny. She was literally a spitting image of her mother.

"I recognized you the second I saw you." He told her with a longing smile. "I was five when she died and you were only one year old... it isn't fair that you grew up as an older sister when you were supposed to be my baby sister... I look at you and I wish to erase your pain."

"Pain is what makes us stronger." She softly said squeezing his hand gently. "It makes us who we are... it's unavoidable."

"Do not trust our father, Betty... no matter what he says." Ben warned her firmly and she nodded hesitantly. "No matter how convincing he might seem to be."

"I'm not stupid, Ben... I can also feel people's emotions. Besides, I never truly knew him, trust me I won't let my emotions cloud my judgment." She assured him with a small smile. "After all, I am married to Kaiden."

"Speaking of Kaiden, are you still gonna get the annulment?" He asked her with a furrowed eyebrow and she drew a deep breath. "No one is forcing you to stay with him if you don't want to... unless you're in love with him."
