"no one could have known mate, don't beat yourself up about it, at the very least Paitoon slept through it all and he's the one we wanted to protect" Suttinut said.
"what the fuck are we going to tell him?" Chit said.
The doors suddenly opened and Kiri Junphanatat walked in with a superior Officer
"thanks for calling me guy's" he said to his security.
Both men looked down at the body of the young man before the Doctor covered his face with a towel.
"I guess it's over" Kiri said.
"The three Officers stood and saluted their superior before Suttinut spoke on behalf of Chit.
"we have all the evidence sir, a camera recording from Officer Chit's rifle and audio from the listening device he planted yesterday"
 "why did he sign his letters G?" Phong was thinking out loud.
 " I think it's his surname, in greek it means green" Kiri suggested.
"ok, let's get this young man to the morgue, Officer's we will have a meeting regarding this incident tomorrow at 0900 hours" the superior Officer said before saluting them and leaving the infirmary.
Kiri walked over to look at his Paitoon.
"is he ok Doctor?" he asked.
"he's just sleeping Mr Junphanatat, I suspect Sikheiyo gave him the sleeping pills that I prescribed for him, he will be fine when he wakes up" the Doctor assured him and everyone else in the room.
"Kan and I will come and visit Paitoon tomorrow but for now I'll leave you guys in peace" Kiri said walking out, the security following him without being told.
"what now?" Phong asked his friends.
"business as usual I guess" Suttinut said.
"I'm staying here with Paitoon guys, I'll see you at the meeting in the morning" Chit said.
"ok, call us if you need us mate, the important thing is Paitoon is safe yeah" Phong said.
"yeah, I'm really tired guy's I'm going to sleep" Chit said.
Phong and Suttinut quietly left the infirmary as Chit walked over to the bunk Sikheiyo had previously used, it still felt warm. After straightening the covers he laid on top of the bedding facing Paitoon. In a way it would have been better if Sikheiyo had tried to kill Paitoon, then at least his death would have been justified to everyone concerned.
Now, Chit didn't know how to go forward, he didn't know what to tell Paitoon in the morning, he felt like he could have helped Sikheiyo though perhaps Paitoon wouldn't have been able to forgive and forget, only he knew what he had been through prior to  becoming a cadet.
Perhaps Phong was right and the tragedy was inevitable? but perhaps if Sikheiyo had received the help he needed, he might have seen what was staring him right his face, another cadet who felt the same way about him as he'd felt about Paitoon, he could have had a future filled with love and happiness.
Chit somehow managed to fall asleep and it felt like only moments had passed before the Doctor was shaking him and telling him it was almost time for roll call. Chit looked across at Paitoon who was still asleep.
"I will call Suttinut and ask him to take my huts today" he told the Doctor, he just wanted to stay with Paitoon a little longer.
The Doctor ordered three breakfasts from the canteen before going into his office, fortunately Paitoon began to stir before they arrived.
"good morning baby" Chit smiled.
"morning P' what are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to be here when you woke up" Chit said.
"where's Sikheiyo and oh' the security guards?" the question that Chit had been dreading.
"Paitoon baby ... there's no easy way to tell you this ..."
"P' just tell me"
"you were drugged last night, not with anything bad just sleeping pills" Chit told him.
"yes, what else?"
"the guy that was stalking you, we got him baby, it's over"
"who ... P' who is it?" Paitoon could tell that P'Chit was avoiding the question.
"why do you need to know baby, why concern yourself about it now, it's over, he won't be bothering you ever again, just focus on moving forward now" Chit said.
"but after what I've been through, I have every right to know P' ..."
The Doctor came out of his office as breakfast was delivered, 
"you should tell him Officer, it's true, he has every right to know" he said.
"then ..." Chit began.
The Doctor could tell that Chit was having a hard time dealing with everything, he felt responsible for all the cadets, even Sikheiyo and he couldn't seem to come to terms with the fact that he hadn't noticed that the guy needed help.
The Doctor sat down on the bed beside Paitoon and took his hand before speaking.
"you have to understand that your stalker had serious issues, no one could have known just how serious they were, perhaps even he himself wasn't aware that it was a sickness. In his mind, his feelings for you were just as real as the three of us sitting in this room right now and they probably were, his actions proved that.
Unfortunately he had no one to tell him that you can't force love and that no matter how much you love that person, you can't make them love you back. It's very likely that if someone had tried to tell him, he would have had an answer for them.
You have every right to know who harassed and terrorized you all that time but in order for all of us to move forward we have to learn to forgive, not just them but ourselves" the Doctor said looking at Chit.
"it was Sikheiyo wasn't it?" Paitoon said and the Doctor nodded.
"where is he now, have the military police taken him?" Paitoon asked.
"he's, no longer with us Paitoon" the Doctor said.
"yes I can see that Doctor but where is he?"
"he's gone baby" Chit said.
"you ... you mean ... gone as in d' dead" Paitoon stuttered.
"yes but as I said, it's over now, you need to move forward" Chit said.
"but what happened while I was drugged, will someone please tell me" Paitoon asked again feeling frustrated.
Chit looked at his watch.
"I really do have to go baby, I have to meet with my superior at 0900, eat your breakfast and we'll talk some more later" Chit said.
"should I go back to my hut?" he asked.
"well, your friend Kiri is coming to see you later so you may as well stay here until after he's been" Chit answered.
"I'll see you later baby and try not to worry too much" he said leaning over to kiss Paitoon on his forehead.
"see you later P'" Paitoon said looking at Sikheiyo's empty bunk.

A/N ~ this was a hard chapter for me to write because I had to imagine how it would feel to be Paitoon, Chit and Sikheiyo and as my character's  I can't help but feel for all three of them. It's so sad for all concerned and such a waste of precious life XX
