“And she made an attempt to kill me.”
Sophia made herself sit, hanging on to his acknowledgement, how could a mother do so?
“And?”
Sophia asked almost indistinct to herself. If Noah was not in this close proximity, he would have not heard her worlds properly.
“And..”
Noah trailed off.
“..And accused me that I am the murderer.”
Sophia didn’t posed questions regarding the delineate, rather placed her small palm over his bunched up tensed muscle, that melted immediately under her warm touch.
“Her mental state made her to assume, that I was the one present their and killed both, my father and her lover.”
Noah let out a nervous chuckle.
“It’s insane, isn’t it?”
“It’s all right.”
Smiling, Noah dived in her hazel woods, before continuing.
“That was the day, my mother lost her child. The emotions I kept in my basket were bundled, packed and thrown far beyond access. I almost turned to a living machine, devoid of any emotions, any feeling.”
Noah spoke letting out another nervous laugh.
“But than I met you, rest you are aware of how I developed feelings for you and everything. One thing I didn’t wanted was to cheat in my married life and get obsessed with someone, as my mother did. And one may say, love was just a non existing element for me. But I was not able to hold myself. You did magic to my brain.”
They both stared at each other’s eyes, for which they even lost the track of time.
“I..”
Noah stopped before continuing.
“..I must be really in love with you, for share my darkest history with you willingly.”
Bending in, Sophia placed a soft kiss on Noah’s lips, before wrapping her arms around him.
“I wish someday to return this feeling of yours with all my heart.”
Blanketing her like a second layer of air, Noah rest his chin over Sophia’s head and Sophia listened to Noah’s increased beats.
“I am so happy to be able to share your past. I wish to do the same throughout my life.”
Her promises were able to pull a smile out of Noah’s heart.
“Did you enjoy the day?”
Nodding her head Sophia replied.
“I did. This is the best after Ibiza.”
“So you didn’t enjoyed last night?”
Noah teased Sophia causing her cheeks to redden.
“Your moans and cries told me another story.”
Rather than replying him, she buried her head more in his chest. Getting silence in reply, Noah let out a throaty laugh before continuing.
“I have a beautiful gift for you.”
Springing up, Sophia turned excited like a child.
“Really?”
“Yupp.”
Noah replied ruffling her hairs, to which Sophia let out a groan and straightened them.
“Ugghh. Don’t do that. What gift?”
“Kiss me.”
Sophia’s eyes enlarged, causing Noah to smirk.
“Don’t act like you didn’t kissed me moments ago.”
“Yeah but, I mean, that was momentary, I can’t do so out of no where.”
“Why not? Am I not your husband?”
Noah spoke more or less similar to a whisper, bending himself towards Sophia causing her to lean on bench post.
“You are Noah, but..”
Before she could complete herself, Noah pulled Sophia’s lips in a deep kiss in between his teeth. Gaining access in her mouth, he begin to explore every other corner of her mouth.
Only when he felt satisfied, he raised his body off of his shy bride.
Huffing, he smiled.
“Sorry honey, can’t keep my hands and mouth off you.”
Pursing her lips, Sophia stood up and whispered.
“What gift you have for me?”
“Come.”
Holding her hand, Noah walked in the direction of their parked car.
“We are going somewhere?”
“Yupp. To your gift.”
Smiling further, Noah pulled her.
Sitting in the car, Sophia felt Noah drive off towards Edenton.
“Are we going to Edenton?”
“Yess.”
“Why?”
“You will know darling once we reach there.”
Sighing, Sophia quietened.
As they reached, sun begun to set and her mansion came in view, Sophia turned astonished.
As soon as Noah halted his car, Sophia got off the car and almost made a small run, in the direction of the mansion.
“You got it repaired?”
Sophia, asked with moisture blurring her vision. Mansion was renovated same as it used to be, when Sophia’s parents were still alive.
Noah took care of everything from it’s garden, fountain, walls to white washing.
“Yes.”
Noah walked behind Sophia and wrapped his muscular arms around her, placing his chin on her shoulder.
“It’s looking same as it used to. You know, when Maa Paa were still there.”
Sophia spoke sniffing.
“I got my hands on some old photographs from the debt file of mansion and got it renovated accordingly.”
Noah spoke rubbing his forehead on her shoulder.
“Wanna see how I got it repaired inside?”
“Yeah.”
Sophia’s voice turned excited.
Stepping in, she found ever little detail same as it used to be, and inside turned beautiful, scrapping off the idea that it might be unattended for some years.
Checking every other thing, Sophia turned to Noah, to find him holding a pen and paper.
“I am returning it to the rightful owner.”
Sophia’s expression confused.
“I am freeing this mansion from any debt and signing it under your name.”
Sophia felt something wet smearing her cheeks, blurring her vision, preventing her from clearly reading Noah’s expressing.
“You don’t have to.”
“I do.”
“No please don’t. I promise, one day I will pay off all the debt and will free it from you.”
Noah smiled.
“Well, you will make me a proud husband that day, but this mansion always belonged to you, and you got married for the vary purpose.”
“Noah.”
Sophia ran in Noah’s arm and buried herself in his warm embrace, sobbing and letting tension seep out of their relationship.
For night, they spent it at Edenton, in Sophia’s mansion and when morning arrived they drifted slowly back to Norfolk or one may say their own, a happy one, supporting each other, and a life full of love.
Not getting any further reaction from Julia, Noah begun to relax in his beautiful married life, his own built love nest.
Only to return one day to mansion, when he felt something odd.
Generally, by the time he returns, Sophia would be back from the university and is already preparing some meal for him. Or would be doing some carving in her work space. Or would listen to music in speaker.
But today, it’s oddly quiet.
The vibe, the livelihood it passed on her presence, was missing.
Noah heart thumped in his ears, drumming in the pin drop silent surrounding him.
He carefully entered the kitchen to find it empty and he immediately made a run to her work space to again find it empty. The drumming in his ears increased along with his heartbeat.
Next he went to his bedroom to again find it vacant.
One by one, he thoroughly checked the whole mansion, continually calling her by name, to get silence in reply.
His body begin to sweat.
Ignoring everything, he called her number to find it switched off.
He immediately ran back to parking area and rode to her university.
Enquiring certain people, he discovered Sophia to be missing from lunch time.
How can he be this fool? Of course he should have understood when she didn’t contacted her for a long time.
But that’s not important to dwell on.
What’s important is Sophia is missing and he is loosing his shit, which he need to put together to think carefully about how to get her.
Of course she is not kidnapped by loots, as he haven’t received any ransom demand.
So it is done by that person.
Person thirsty for blood and revenge because of her own disturbed psychology.
