"Hey Mum, hey Gemma." I say into the phone as their faces pop up into my screen.
"Oh, you finally remembered about us then." Gemma teases, smirking at me through the phone.
"Excuse you, the phone works two ways." I retort, poking my tongue out at her like a child.
"You know, he's not wrong Gemma." Mum laughs, smiling through the phone at our childish antics.
"So. What has everyone been up to?" Mum asks the both of us as she walks outside into the backyard.
"Just finalizing things for my project, it's due in a couple weeks and I don't want to wait till the last minute to have it done." Gemma answers as she pops a strawberry into her mouth.
"How are the sunnies looking Gem?" I ask, not forgetting about wanting her to make me some in the future.
"Really good actually. I'm really happy with the ones I've designed." She beams at us both, popping another strawberry into her mouth.
"That's amazing Gem, I'm so glad you're happy with them." Mum smiles at her as Gemma thanks her. "What about you H, how's your project going?" She asks me next.
"It's good, it's good. I still have a bit of time on it so I'm still joining the team for trainings and games to get more photos out of them but once it gets closer to the due date I'll probably stop taking photos and just focus on getting my portfolio together." I answer honestly, walking into the kitchen to look for something to eat. Watching Gemma eat those strawberries has made me realize how hungry I actually am.
"That sounds like a good plan H. Have you gotten any photos yet that you think you might use for the portfolio?" Gemma asks me curiously.
"I've got a few already but still need to make some slight adjustments to the lighting of them." I say as I pull a bowl of left over pasta out of the fridge and heat it up.
"Oh. And how's this Louis guy going." Gemma wiggles her eyebrows at me. I had been keeping them up to date with everything that had been happening between Louis and I. Sometimes I think they get more excited about these things than what I do, but it's nice to have that support around me.
"Nothing yet. Same as usual, but it's nice so I'm not even mad about it." I smile, getting my pasta out of the microwave and sitting down to eat it.
"You should just ask him out." Mum chuckles as if she doesn't know I don't have the confidence in me to do that.
"Mummm. You know that's not going to happen." I whine, accidentally dropping my fork on the floor and having to get a new one.
"But why not? He clearly feels the same about you, you may as well just go for it." Gemma says, trying to encourage me.
"I don't know." I mumble, not really sure what to say to the both of them. I quickly changed the subject and put the focus onto Mum by asking her what she had been up to.

Two hours later and we were all saying goodbye to each other, promising that we needed to call each other more often and then we were hanging up.
I had heard Niall come home not too long ago so I left my room to go and see what he was doing.
"Hey man." He greeted when I came into his line of vision. "I was waiting until you got off the phone but I seen Zayn down at the cafe and he invited us around to theirs for a few drinks if you want to join?" He asks, stopping what he's doing while he waits for my answer.
"Yeah, sure. I'll come with you." I say as I walk past him to get a glass and fill it with some orange juice.
"I'll probably be leaving in about twenty minutes if that's ok with you?" He says, walking over to the couch and sitting down.
