13 : Love

"I love you." She whispered one last time as her breaths shallowed and her eyes closed, slipping into oblivion for the last time.
Those last tear drops rolled down as delicate pearls and rested on the pillow for a while, as if mourning for her. Just as she took her last breath and the monitors stopped beeping, they buried themselves deep into the pillow, as if marking her end with their own.
Her fingers loosened around the ring which she held dear and kept precious for so long. Falling on the ground, it rolled down, only coming to halt at someone's feet outside the room as doctors and nurses rushed inside.
But it was too late now, wasn't it?
