" And...there we go...all done." The British brunette announced as she put one final pin into the gown the slender singer wore " you can get out of this and into your clothes and on your way home."
" Sounds perfect." Celine sighed tiredly, giving the woman a small but polite smile – it was nearly 2 am and she was still at Ceasar's – after the show that evening was the only time this particular designer was available to fit her for the new gowns she'd be wearing in the next run of the show.
They'd been at it at least two hours and the singer felt dizzy with exhaustion, she loved her job but nights like tonight were extremely trying.
At the designer word of release Celine, with Angeliques help quickly got undressed then re-dressed in a pair of joggers and a white tank top, putting her hair up in an easy bun.
" I'm so sorry you had to stay this late, but thank you for being here with me, I owe you." Celine apologetically thanked Angelique for going above and beyond as her assistant and friend " I'm so grateful for you sweet friend."
" Of course boss, you know I've got you." Angelique gave a wink " I've been keeping a check on our girl too, snacks and called in some dinner for her then tucked her in on your couch in your main dressing room, she's been asleep for a while now."
Celine looked at the woman a bit confused before her eyes went wide with realization.
" Oh my God Ang...I have Emma with me tonight don't I?!" She gasped, hand coming to cover her mouth as she quickly grabbed her purse " My poor baby has been waiting all these hours and I never even went back to see her..." She groaned shaking her head and quickly moving towards the other room " Mom fail for sure."
" Now...you know she gets it, she knows your life and isn't going to be angry." Angelique tried to comfort the mother to no avail as she all but had to run to keep up with the blonde.
" I still feel terrible." Celine said over her shoulder to the other woman before grabbing the door knob to her dressing room and opening it quietly, heart melting at the sight of her teenage daughter under throw blanket on the couch fast asleep, Celine slowly came over to where she laid, lowering to her knees so that she was by the girl's head – looking over her delicate features, a smile playing at her lips " isn't my baby beautiful?"
" She's perfection boss." Angelique hummed, looking over the girl then Celine – heart both warming and breaking as she looked over her daughter as if she were a newborn instead of a teenager on the cusp of womanhood – it was so unfair, this woman was one of the purest, kindest souls – she deserved to raise this child " she looks so much like you." Angelique hummed, pushing away the thoughts – the past couldn't be changed they had to focus on the now " but man does she have a bit of extra spicyness, kid has a PHD in sarcasm, she keeps me laughing every minute we are together." The woman chuckled quietly.
" That part was fully inherited from Rosalie." Celine rolled her eyes with a good natured laugh, unable to resist the urge to run her finger tips through her sleep princesses' hair ever so delicately " but...she does look like me doesn't she? There are little things she does that are similar too...we both love cinnamon on our waffles, she's always snuggling under a blanket because she's to cold in the house no matter what temperature Rene keeps it at..." Celine giggled lightly " she adores the boys and is so naturally maternal, we both loved peanut butter from the jar and are such night owls – it's always me and her up at night, which I love when I come home from a show and find her still awake." The woman's smile grew wide as she thought of the late night bonding they often shared and that at this point she was confident Emma stayed up just to see her which meant everything to the woman's heart " I never knew love could be like this...I mean, I adore my boys and the love is equal but...it is different...our bond is so special." She whispered, voice breaking a bit as that familiar sadness and longing settled in of wishing they had always been together, she tried to ignore it but...it was so hard.
