-Willow-
"Let me carry it now."
I didn't have time to answer Noah back before Nick was right beside me again, holding three drinks in his hands. They were all large, one looked like straight coffee which told me it was Nick's. The other two looked the exact same truthfully.
"They are the same thing, the one on the left has oat milk in it though." He spoke as I reached for the one on the right, before moving my hand to the left one instead. Noah chuckled before grabbing the other cup, I cleared my throat as I brought the iced coffee to my mouth and took a sip of it. Sighing contently before I headed for the door.
I could hear the boys murmuring quietly under their breaths, so that I wouldn't hear whatever they were talking about. I rolled my eyes as I stepped outside, I groaned at how humid it felt. It wasn't as humid as it would be in Virginia after a summer rain, but it was still hot.
"I'm just saying, before we head home. We should go because you know she's going to be sick tomorrow." Noah's voice cut through my thoughts as I turned around and stared up at my two friends who bickered back and forth.
"She's not going to get sick, she warmed up with coffee right after we got soaked." Nick spoke with a soft laugh as he jogged down the cafe steps and up to me. He put his hand on my forehead and cheeks, checking my temperature. I saw Noah roll his eyes as he made it down the steps, standing beside Nick as they both looked at me.
"She's going to be sick Nick, I'm telling you. She's going to wake up in the middle of the night with a fever and cough. Every time she's in the rain, she gets a cold." Noah was correct, every time I am out in the rain I do get sick. It was usually a small summer cold that would go away in two-three days but it's still enough for Noah to be worried.
I sighed while looking between the two of them as they argued whether or not I'd get a cold. I rolled my eyes and began walking away from them, down the sidewalk. I didn't walk far, just around the corner where I sat down on a short concrete wall. They were acting like I was a child, neither of them asking my opinion on what I thought. I pulled my phone out and saw three minutes had gone by. I didn't want to freak them out, I just wanted them to get their shit together. I continued to sit and drink my coffee, when my clock hit five minutes. I heard the footsteps coming down the sidewalk, quick and hard.
"Have you lost your goddamn mind?!" Noah's voice boomed as I watched relief flood his face. He stomped over to me and hovered above me. His arms crossed as he huffed in anger. Nick was behind him, shaking his head while glaring at me.
"Didn't I just tell you about wandering off?" Nick spoke as he sat down beside me, Noah still hovered over me. Which was fine, he was blocking the sun so that was great.
"No. You told me I couldn't just walk across the street. I didn't walk across the street." I smiled a shit eating grin as Noah gritted his teeth. I could see his jaw clenching while Nick laughed lowly, under his breath as he stood up with his hands out.
"Not my field." He spoke as he walked away from me. Noah squatted in front of me while Nick pulled his phone out to do who knows what.
"Listen here you little brat." Noah spat out in anger as he put his arms on either side of my thighs, caging me in while I sat on top of the short wall. He sighed, shrugging his shoulders as the anger left his eyes the minute they met my green ones. His voice softening as he gently rubbed my knee.
"Don't do that again. You were there one minute and gone the next. I thought something happened to you." He pushed hair behind my ear as he booped my nose gently, I kicked my legs while looking down at the cracks in the concrete.
"You guys were talking about me like I was a child, So I decided to wander off like a child. Even though we just talked about that at the house. You didn't even ask my opinion and it was about me." I rolled my eyes as I hopped off the wall and took another sip of my coffee.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking princess. I just hate seeing you sick and would rather go ahead and get you the things you'll need now." Noah reached out and gently rubbed my forearm with his fingers, Nick was typing away at his phone. Pretending like he wasn't listening to the conversation. But I knew he was listening to every word as I saw a smile crack the corner of his mouth at Noah's softened and soothing tone.
"I forgive you Nono. Let's go get it then, I have a feeling Nico's trying to find the closest pharmacy." I reached out to grab Noah's hands, Nick looked up as we walked over.
"There is one three blocks away... that way!" Nick spoke while looking at his phone, before he looked up and pointed to the left.
The three of us started the walk, I was between both of them. Noah holding my hand, playing with the rings on my fingers while he laughed along with Nick. I looked around as we passed by little shops, I hadn't realized I walked so far away from the house.
I stared up at Noah as we walked, his hair falling in his face every few steps we took. He needed to cut it again soon, he was going to be sitting on it eventually. His brown eyes shined brightly as the sun danced across them. Pulling out the golden hues in the otherwise dark orbs. It was unfair how good he looked, how good he always looked. His features suited him well, his pointy nose fitting his face perfectly. I focused on his lips as I bit down on my own. I saw a small smirk appear across his face as an eyebrow raised, his tongue darting out to moisten his lips.
I wasn't paying attention and tripped on a piece of raised sidewalk, I let out a small squeal before I was caught. I looked up, seeing Noah's hand on one of my forearms and Nicks on the other. Both with a raised eyebrow as I smiled sheepishly. A warm blush coming to my cheeks and a giggle up my throat.
"Wasn't paying attention."
"I noticed." Noah laughed as he looked me up and down, lessening his grip on my arm and sliding his hand back into mine. He squeezed my hand firmly as he winked down at me, his eyes letting me know he'd bring it back around later.
Nick released my arm and pointed across the street.
"The pharmacy." I cleared my throat, trying to take Noah's attention off of my reddened face.
It didn't work, the whole time we were in the drugstore getting medicine, candy, drinks and snacks he poked fun at me. Managing to slap my butt the few times Nick had wandered off to find something.
We bought all of our stuff before leaving the pharmacy and starting the walk home. When we got back; there was a large delivery truck outside of the house. It was backed up with the door facing the home. Jolly, Folio, Henry and two other people I didn't know were standing on the porch.
"Did you guys order something?" Jolly spoke to us, but he was looking at me as he did a once over, noticing how wet my clothes were. I shook my head as Folio took the bags from me, taking them inside as I looked behind me. Seeing two delivery drivers getting out of the large truck and walking over. One of them holding a clipboard, he looked at all the guys before his eyes landed on me.
"Delivery for Willow Greenbriar?" The man spoke as he placed his foot on the bottom step up the porch. I took a step back out of habit, bringing myself closer to Noah, who placed his bags down on a chair as his eyebrows furrowed and he wrapped an arm around me.
"That's me.. but I didn't order anything. What is it?" I spoke firmly and hesitantly. Henry rolled his eyes from behind Jolly and mumbled a joke about how ungrateful I could be.
"I'm not sure darlin, I just deliver the packages." I nodded my head at the delivery driver before Henry laughed and stepped from behind Jolly and up to Noah and I. Nick was standing off to the side, smoking a cigarette. Folio had just came back onto the porch.
The back of the truck opening loudly, I grimaced at the sound before looking into the truck and scoffing.
"Are you shitting me."
A/N: What do we think it is? This was a filler chapter to get to the next chapter. Which is gonna be fun to write. Some happy times before anymore drama. 👀
