I banged on the door, desperately trying to break free. Sweat started beading down my face as i tried hard to unlock the door.

After 10 minutes of trying to break free, i stop, leaning against the door, sliding all the way down to the floor. I sighed in defeat. What was i supposed to do now? School was about to end and i didn't even have any phone, as i left it in the classroom, thinking that i would come back.

I gripped my hair, trying to hold back my tears. Why was life so cruel to me? Why? I lost my family, my biggest bully comes back to school, and then i get locked up in who knows where! Ugh! My life was hell! But what could i do? I'm just a regular girl, with a regular life. Well.. if you call my parents dying normal.

I shook my head. Now is not the moment to be thinking about this, Zaire!

I stood back up, contemplating what i should do next. It was obvious that Felicia thought this through carefully, making sure nobody could hear me and nobody would definitely find me. To make matters worse, I didn't even know where i was! Gosh why are you so stupid Zaire?!

But why am i scolding myself? I did nothing wrong. How was i supposed to know that she would beat me up where nobody can find me?

Actually that sounds like something she would do. But she was had my wrist in a death grip! Wait, why am i defending myself against myself? I laughed at the absurd moment and took a good, proper look around the room i was stuck in.

It had rows and rows of shelves filled with medical supplies, random papers for god knows what,  cleaning materials, and food. My stomach grumbled at the sight of food. When was the last time i ate? What time even was it? I looked around for a clock but found none is sight. There wasn't even a window! It was a cold, rather large, gray metal box that i was stuck in. I frowned but walked over to the food supplies and started rummaging through it.

There was the basics, lettuce, bread, cheese, and much more you would find in the school cafeteria fridge. It was clear that this was a storage room for EVERYTHING. I recalled walking past this once with my other friend, Hailey, when we were lost on the first day of freshman year. We had tried to open it, curious to see what was inside but found that it was locked. Guess i know what's inside now.

My mind wandered to Hailey. I smiled, softly and sadly. We were friends for about 5 years until Felicia corrupted her brain and made her a minion. I still remembered that say like it was yesterday...

"Hey!" Hailey exclaimed, running up to me and grabbing me in a bear hug. "Well hi there! Aren't you very excited today?" i giggles, hugging her back.

"Well duh! Felicia said i could sit at her table today! Isn't that so exciting?!" she grinned, letting me go. My smiled faltered at that statement. "What?" i asked, not wanting to believe what i just heard. "I said, Felicia invited me to sit with her and her squad at lunch today!" she repeated. So i didn't hear wrong.

"Hailey...You do know what she bullies me right?" i asked, cautiously.

"Listen Zaire. I don't know what you two have going on but she's actually really nice once you get to know her!" she smiled.

"No trust me Hailey, Felicia is BAD news! Don't trust her! She's trying to brain wash you...i don't want to lose you..." i explained.

She just shook her head and said that i was misunderstood. I frowned as i watched her skip away towards Felicia and he gang.

A few hours later, i found Hailey sitting at the popular table chatting with them as if they had been friends for many years. I started to walk over to them, but i got stopped by one of Felicia's minions.

"Where do you think you're going?" she asked in her high pitched bitchy voice.

"To sit with Hailey.." i said.

"Listen freak, but we only invited her, not you! So scurry along and got eat somewhere else."

I frowned and turned towards Hailey, pleading her with my eyes to ask if i could say, but she was too busy chatting her mouth off with Felicia. I sighed and turned away only to be tripped by someone. I luckily caught myself and looked behind to find the culprit. Hailey. I almost burst into tears as i saw the look in her eyes. Pure hatred. Anger for something i didn't even do.

She cackled and spit in my direction before turning away from me. I burst into tears and ran towards the exit, desperate to leave. How could she?! I was her best friend! I ran to the bathrooms and shut the stall door, sitting down on the closed toilet seat.

I sobbed and sobbed until i had no more tears to spare. Even then i cried until i felt so exhausted i couldn't even keep my eyes open any longer. I drifted off into a dreamless slumber, only waking up to the final bell, signaling that the school day was over and we were free to leave. I quickly wiped my face, removing any proof that i cried with water, and left the bathroom, grabbing my backpack from the, luckily empty, classroom. I rushed out the door, not watching where i was going until i bumped into someone. I looked up in fear, hoping that it wasn't Felicia, her gang members, nor Hailey. I sighed in relief when i found out it was a random girl in my grade.

"Hey, you okay?" she asked.

I nodded and mumbled a quick apology, before quickly walking away.

"Hey! Wait up!" the girl called after me, jogging to catch up.

I turned and looked up at her. She was pretty, in the attractive kind of way. She was about 2-3 inches taller than me and her smile was breathtaking. Her eyes glistening in the sunshine.

"Do you need something?" I asked, in a surprisingly calm voice.

"Not really.. i just wanted to know your name." she shrugged.

I smiled softly at her and told her it was Zaire Olen. She grinned at that name and said it was really pretty and unique. I blushed at that comment. "Well? What's your name?" i asked her.

"Quince. Quince Faire. Nice to meet you Zaire Olen".
