12:30 pm
"It's been five years" the man speaks from behind the camera. "it has yes" I say adjusting myself in the seat. "what's your name," he asks, "soraelia nadia anouk jean-baptiste" I reply "How old are you?" he asks
"22 probably 23 when this comes out" i smile "nah this will be out later today" he says
"oh shit right i forgot you guys don't edit this you just put it out raw" i laugh
"where are you from?" he says.
"London, oh ethnically im Caribbean and Moroccan," I say
"Last time we saw you, you were how old?" he asks.
"19," I say "Christ" I add.
"how many albums do you have," he asks,
"just the one," I say, "but I've got something coming soon" I wink at the camera.
"how many Instagram followers do you have?" he asks. "uhhh," I say pulling out my phone "177 million, which is surprising since I haven't been around" I laugh.
"how many Grammys do you have?" he asks "uh five, album of the year, song of the year twice, record of the year, and new artist," I say. "humble brag, what have you done in your five year hiatus?" he says.
I breathe "Umm I took the five years off to just focus on myself really, jumping into the industry at 18 is still very young and also being in the industry whilst struggling with addiction isn't the easiest thing to do either because what a lot of people don't realise is everyone does fucking coke" I laugh, "after my last tour I wasn't in the best place with drugs so I spent the time trying to get clean and over the five years I did relapse and then attempted to get clean again but luckily for me the group chat are forever by my side and I'm forever thankful for them. and also obviously during the five years ashton and i made a whole lot of music and to be honest i think ive got about two three albums worth of songs" i say
"what do you want the future to look like for you?" the man asks
"i want to be back on stage, that's really it i want to be on tour i want to keep pushing out music because that's what i was born to do there's something about being on stage and hearing people sing your music that cannot come close to anything else on this planet" i smile "can you tell us anything about what you've got in store for us?" the man asks. i look over at ashton who's sitting in a chair besides the camera and he nods in a way to say why not. "it's an album and i'm still torn if i want to do a two part album because i have one album that's raw and there's a lot of emotion and shit in there i guess but the second album is really fun it's similar to my first but it's also different the king has definitely come back and when you hear it you'll be able to hear how far my voice and my writing has come and that's the album i will definitely be putting out. um I 100% will be doing a tour for it too so wait for that" I say "Can you tell us about one of the songs on the album or any features?" the man asks sounding intrigued. "yeah, king of the fall is on the album i know ive kept people waiting for years but i felt now is the right time to drop it and the music video is so cool, as for features I think I'll keep that as a surprise but one of my absolute favourite artists is on the album and working with him was more than a dream come true I actually cried when he suggested we work together because I love j cole so much" I laugh. "oh shit I wasn't supposed to say that but whatever that's just one of the features so look forward to that one" I smile.
"lastly where do you see yourself in five years soraelia" the man asks me. "pfffff hopefully not dead" I joke, "nah but in five years I'll be how old? nearly 27. fuck, id like to have kids maybe I mean I'm only 22 but like I would like to have kids, at 27 I'll probably still be making music because I don't see myself taking another break again, I told myself once I'm ready to come back to the industry then I'm back for good" I say "thank you soraelia" the man says. "you're always welcome" I smile getting up from the seat I hear the click of the camera button and me and Ashton head out.

18:30
"The interview dropped an hour ago and you're already trending on Twitter" Alejandra chirps. "I can't believe we're getting another Soraelia album and maybe another" Cruz reads out from his phone. "wait I want to see what people are saying," Ashton and I say in unison. the four of us are scrolling on Twitter reading out tweets in turn. "five fucking years if this album is trash I'm gonna jump someone" I laugh whilst reading aloud. "this one is just a bunch of random letters in caps with #soraelia next to it" Ashton says "retweet that one" I laugh.
