Both Uzi and (Y/N)'s hearts dropped directly to the fucked core of Copper-9.

The drone was back. Body staggering back and forth, as a mercury—looking substance flooded the space where its head had been blown off.

It couldn't be happening, shouldn't be happening.

And yet, even with the stains of oil on its coat from the oil which had flooded out of its neck, it was back. Standing.

Booting up.

Uzi tensed, glancing over to (Y/N) who was already trembling, limbs locked in place, frozen in time due to the fear which had started running through their circuits. Petrified.

Without thinking, she grabbed the rod they had used as a walking stick, wrestling it right out of their grip. She didn't pay mind to their yelps or protest as they fell down to the snow, just immediately rushing forward.

And just before she hit the drone, it perked up, yellow eyes blinking nicely at her running figure.

"Oh! He—"

It yelped as Uzi bat it over the head with the rod, holding onto the top of its hat.

"OH GOD OH GEEZ WHY'RE YOU DOING THAT?!" It yelled, voice cracking with shock as Uzi continued to swing and swing and swing at its face.

But she hesitated as it spoke.

As he spoke.

Uzi stared at his cowering form, rod still raised like a bat even with him flinched away. Her brow furrowed, a wrinkle popping onto her visor as she just stared.

"Holy crap you talk..."

"Yeah uh... I do..?" He chuckled nervously, standing up hesitantly and poking the rod Uzi held away as he did so. His tail was lowered into the snow, swaying slow overtop of it.

(Y/N) hopped back up to their foot they could use, snow crunching underneath the sole of their shoe. "So are you guys just third—wheeling me now or?"

"Oh shushit already," Uzi spat, rolling her eyes as a blush found its way onto her visor. She threw the rod back over to (Y/N), who scrambled to catch it before promptly dropping it into the snow. An imprint of it's ridges already compacted into its surface before they picked it up and staggered their way to stand beside Uzi.

"So, are you two new to our squad?" He piped up, straightening out his jacket as he stood up. As his optics scanned over them best they could, despite their damaging, he paid special attention to Uzi. "You...

"You seem a bit short for a disassembly drone," he mumbled, finger curled above his mouth as he narrowed his eyes towards Uzi, trying to make more sense of her through his damaging.

Uzi's lips pressed together firmly in an awkward smile, eyes darting around as (Y/N) stifled their laughter.

"Well," He started off, standing up straight and puffing out his chest," I'm Serial Designation N! Nice to meet you two. I'm kind of the leader of the squad in this city! That's not true, everyone tells me I'm useless and terrible,
