8 am Monday
Alix steps through the halls, her headphones blasting as she makes her way to her locker, getting nothing but stares from other students. That wasn't uncommon considering her following but today's stares were constant, not the usual scattered stares. She ignores it as she makes reaches her locker, opening it, and grabbing her needed books.
As she goes to close her locker, it's slammed shut by Devon, who's phone is in his other hand.
"Dude!" Alixandra removes her headphones off her ears and moves them to around her neck.
"Dude!" Devon matches the girls energy as he flips his phones so his screen is facing her, and edit of her and Junior, lighting up the screen.
Alixandra sighs, knowing this was bound to happen. She just begins walking to her first period, not paying much attention to the edit.
"Helloooo, earth to L. Are we gonna talk about this?""What's there to talk about?"
"This video of you and Junior." He goes back to his phone.
"It's just a video."
"Videos." Alix pauses at the correction, looking at Devon. "This is just the first vid that popped up when I opened TikTok right now." He swipes through, seeing more and more appear on his for you page. "It's literally every other video, L."
"I don't know what you want me to say De. It's just some edits that mean nothing. You were there the whole time." Alix goes to put her books in her bag while continuing to walk.
Devon steps in front of the girl. "You're right. I was there. So what's going on between you two?"
Alix sighs and faces her head towards the sky, frustrated at the question. "Oh my fucking god, nothing is going on between me and Junior, we're just friends now, that's it." Alix walks around Devon.
Devon turns on his heel and catches up to her. "So you two are friends now? Just last week you were telling me he was an asshole and you hated that man."
"I still think he's an ass. And I never said I hated him."
"Oh you most definitely did. It may not have been last week, but you sure have said those words."
Alix stops in front of her English class and turns to Devon. "Okay yeah, I've said that before. And now I disagree. I was wrong about hating this man and him being a terrible person. I've gotten to know him these last few days and he's chill. I like hanging out with him, and we're friends now, I think. You were right D, and I was wrong. Are you happy now?" Alix admits everything and Devon stares at her shocked. "What?"
Devon blinks before continuing. "Did you just admit you were wrong?"
Alix rolls her eyes and groans, "Jesus fuck." She turns around and opens the door to class.
"Does this mean we can sit with him at lunch?" Devon yells and Alix just flips him off and nods, causing Devon to laugh and walk to his class.
Alix makes it inside the classroom and looks at an open seat in her class. Her English class was first come first serve with seats, so she had begun making it a mission to get there early and snag a seat in the back. She looks at the seats and Junior looks up, making eye contact with the girl and waving at her. She smiles back and makes her way that way, taking the seat in front of him, not needing that back seat after all.
"Since when did you sit in the back?" Alix asks as she sits down and he pauses the music on his phone.
"Since my mom dropped me off today." He laughs and takes his AirPods out, putting them in the case.
"Why not your dad?"
"He's still feeling down since the whole thing with you know-"
"Yeah. I'm really sorry for your loss by the way. It's been rough?" Alix turns her body more to face Junior.
"At the house yeah, especially with Jake there now too, but me and my uncle weren't super close so-" Junior picks at his hands a bit and Alix notices.
"Oh. Well, if you ever need anything, you got my number." She smiles reassuring my at the boy and he smiles back. She grabs a bracelet from her wrist. "And here," She grabs one hand and brings it towards her. "So you stop picking at your skin."
She laughs a little and looks up at him, silently asking if she can put it on him. He smiles and nods, and she blacked the black beaded bracelet on his wrist. "The little beads spin, so, it should help. You can just move them around when you're nervous." He starts moving them and sees a little pendent with the letter 'L' on it. "Sorry, it's the whole nickname thing- , but you can just ignore that. I actually think you can take it off- let me see," she goes to try and take it off, but he pulls his wrist back.
"No it's fine!" She looks up at him. "It's badass, it's the same font as Death Note, and it's cool, don't worry about it."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." He smiles at her, just continuing to stare at the brown eyes that he can never get enough of.
"Okay." She smiles and looks into his brown eyes, the ones she's beginning to grow more fond of. "If you ever need any other things like that, I have some rings and stuff too, those are nice and I'm sure I have some that'll fit. " She breaks eye contact and looks down grabbing her bag, and he just looks at her side profile.
"Ehh, I'm not really a ring wearer." He crosses his arms and places them atop of his desk, she stops rummaging through her bag for the rings and looks at him. "Really?" She looks back into her bag, and pulls out a little black box. "Well I think it would suit you, you have nice hands."
The passing comment has Junior smiling and looking at his hands. She grabs his other hand this time, placing a silver band onto his middle finger, the bands center, being able to spin.
He gets a closer look at her hands that hold a multitude of gold rings, the thin ones with little gems scattered here and there, her wrist also holds a gold bracelet with a thin gold square, that has Alixandra engraved on it. Below it, a white beaded version of the bracelet she gave him, with no pendant on it.
He smiles at the idea she purposefully gave him the one with the letter L.
"You see, there ya go, now you can stop picking at the skin around your fingers." She laughs and goes to let go of his hand, and he holds onto hers, continuing to look at her rings. "Why do you have silver, but wear gold?"
"Cause I look good in both." She laughs and playfully winks before the bell rings, turning around.
"I bet you do." he whispers as he goes back to sitting up straight, the comment reaching the girls ears.
