As Thomas and I stood in front of the fireplace in the smoking room, the flickering flames provided a dim, eerie light that danced across our faces. The room felt strangely calm amidst the chaos engulfing the rest of the ship.
The ship's tilt had become more pronounced, and the sounds of distress from the deck above were growing louder. Yet, in this moment, time seemed to slow down, and it was as if we were in a world of our own—a sanctuary within the heart of the calamity.

Our hands were tightly clasped, and I leaned into Thomas's comforting embrace. His presence offered solace amidst the uncertainty, and we drew strength from each other, finding a small respite from the turmoil outside.
"We'll get through this, Eleanor," Thomas said, his voice steady, though I could sense the weight of worry in his words.

I nodded, unable to find the right words to respond. But in the silence between us, our love spoke volumes—our shared history, the memories we cherished, and the hope that we would face whatever came next side by side.

The somewhat comforting silence was interrupted of yelling being heard. "Mr. Andrews... Eleanor." We both slowly turned our heads towards the noise, getting out of our trance. There we see Rose and Jack. Why are they still here?

"Oh, Rose" Thomas said still in his trance a little bit. "Won't you even make a try for it?" She asked the both of us with a worried look. I could see Jack behind her, his face painted with an anxious look. Perhaps to quickly get to deck, to the lifeboats. "I'm sorry that I didn't build you a stronger ship, young Rose" Thomas murmured with a regretful look. I wrapped my arm around his for comfort.

"It's going fast" Jack said, while tugging at Rose, after hearing the ship groaning. "We have to move"

"Wait." Thomas stopped them. He took his life vest that was laying on one of the tables, giving it to Rose, "Good luck to you, Rose." I quickly took mine that also was laying on the table, and gave it to Jack. Rose quickly gave us both a hug. Mine, a little longer.

Me and Rose always had a special bond. Not as friends but as sisters. I gave her a soft smile, as we pulled away from the hug. I then gave Jack a look basically saying to take care of her, for me. He gave me a nod back.

Me and Thomas watched as they quickly left the smoking room, going up towards the deck.

In the dim light of the smoking room, the sound of rushing water outside the windows grew louder with each passing moment. Thomas and I stood close, knowing that our time together was slipping away like the sands in an hourglass.

"We had the most wonderful adventures, didn't we?" I said, my voice soft but filled with love.
Thomas nodded, a tender smile gracing his lips. "Indeed, Eleanor," he replied, his gaze locked with mine. "From the gardens of Ireland to the bustling streets of New York, every moment with you has been a cherished memory."
