—Labyrinth
We all loose ourselves slowly in a labyrinth of Love.
That day was long, loud and Silently short all together. There was an air of confusion around everyone, and around Me. I had Human History as my first class, while Alyssa had a biology practical, so we had separated a while ago. Human History was Loud, but The teacher was silent and I sat confused from everything.
"It was a Miracle he survived", I heard that more often than I heard what our teacher, Mrs Lowe was talking about, she had one of the highest voices amongst all my teachers, but even she dimmed out in all the noise and gossips around.
"It happened last weekend, They had gone for a-" One girl in the front, Jenna spoke casually to her friend who sat with her, They didn't mind that the Teacher was directly in front of them, trying to conduct a divided class.
"Let's get back to the class girls, There is still a lunch break for any discussions!". Mrs Lowe tried to End the discussions, I looked at her keenly, she was stressed out too, She was a young woman in her early 40's, but She looked extremely tired, and I knew it wasn't from the morning class, The teachers had to be stressed and concerned, The Erickson's were so influential that the school could stop existing if they wanted.
Mrs Lowe's Instructions and pleas fell on deaf ears, the girls still conversed with each other just as freely as before, she let out an exasperated sigh before going back to her Work. She knew better than to persist.
"It was a miracle, They had gone to one of those private racing course, but the Bike malfunctioned, Jace Saved William by throwing him off, but he was too Late to save himself". I sighed myself, I felt my stomach churn, It felt all too familiar that I felt my head spin a bit.
"Jace Is a hero, Although I heard That he may have done it intentionally", That changed my perspective immediately, It felt too real, and familiar, Did she mean he committed suicide?, I had asked myself, But I doubted, Why would Jace do that?, wasn't he happy?, from the gasps I heard many considered it a possibility which confused me, I couldn't believe that people that rich would want to die, It shouldn't even be a possibility.
"Enough!!", Iman, our class prefect shouted and the class fell silent including our Teacher, She stood up from her seat and walked over to Jenna. Jenna backed away, frightened as she leaned in and towered over her in a dominating manner that scared The poor girl more, "Do not keep running your mouth in this class, Especially not about a dead person, Do you understand?". She asked, tightly.
"Yes", Jenna managed to say with repeated head nods.
Iman eyed her before pushing herself off and Moving back to her table, She however didn't sit back down, instead she arranged her things in her bag and Walked casually out of the class.
Mrs Lowe sighed and continued with her class, this time everyone paid close attention and the class was dead silent. I watched Iman leave, she had a strut of a model, a characteristic that many envied her for, but I found it endearing. She was tall, at least 5'9, A dark skinned girl with very long curly hair that shined richly under the sun, Her parents were rich, if not richer than most students in the school, Amina Zuhair and Mohammed Zuhair had The old money, And Iman was an only child with a fortune to her name. She wasn't a bully, Just a Girl who had zero tolerance for foolish things, An icon in her own right and one of the only people who acknowledged Me in the whole school.
Class Went on as Normal after that, I tried to focus, I wasn't the best with history, it showed with all the C's I had gathered over the years, but I couldn't as I still thought about William, I couldn't forget yesterday, nor could I forget the Library, somehow William was present in my memory, even though I had met him twice, I Wondered about him like A friend I had for years, I knew he wouldn't be fine, no one heals that fast.
