"So Artemis, how are you finding our sessions as of recent?"

Arti's knee bounced nervously in his chair, the same leather chair in the same stale room. The stupid bookshelf with all those useless 'how exercise helps you feel better mentally!' books.

He fumbled with his hands not knowing how to deliver his response. He could feel Linda's eyes burning through his skull trying to carve away at each negative thought Artemis had, each movement he made was being hyper analysed to determine how hopeless he was.

"U-Um... they're ok?" Artemis replied reluctantly, they weren't hell on earth however he hadn't noticed much improvement. Linda just nodded, yet he could feel her stupid psychologist mind swarming with ideas on how to crack him. "How have you been finding the Lithium?" Linda asked

Lithium. That hadn't been mentioned since 2 weeks ago, it's like therapists are almost meant to keep track on how your medication has been affecting you. "It.. it made me calmer?" Artemis shrugged, haven't had particularly thought over any answers to the topic. "How so?" Linda continued, it seemed like whatever answer he gave would always be met with another prying question

However maybe Lithium was an important topic. As taking lithium could prove dangerous to him due to his lack of kidney, any severe kidney problems would render someone unable to be put on the medication. However since Artemis's recovery had gone smooth enough to say his lack of kidney wasn't 'severe' Linda had managed to prescribe him.

"Um. I feel a lot less motivated? Kinda like i'm just on pause.." Artemis mumbled, he had found that now staying up till early hours in the morning pouring inks into papers was becoming increasingly difficult. "I'm just asking as i'll need to schedule you're blood test soon, we need to monitor the lithium in your blood you see. Lithium is the right medication for your diagnosis however we do need to check how it effects you personally." Linda informed, shuffling in her seat slightly

"I hate blood tests.." Artemis mumbled, hugging himself slightly as his voice was bitter. "They're scary aren't they? How have you been feeling lately Artemis, is there anything you want to talk about?" Linda inquired, still managing to keep a conversation running despite Artemis's lack of enthusiasm.

He shook his head no in reply, not because he was particularly trying to avoid Linda however there genuinely wasn't much to talk about. It felt like the mood stabilisers he was on was sucking the life out of him, devouring any hobbies he had and replacing them with a shell of himself - at least he didn't have the burning desire to kill himself anymore, which was a bonus he probably shouldn't mention to Linda.

"How about we cover things we haven't talked about much? Like per say your autism? Or maybe your parents? Or friends?" Linda continued, seemingly deciding that since no knew information would could out of todays session maybe old events could be elaborated on. Artemis didn't see the point of reliving those memories to tell her about it when she was meant to be helping him forget.

"Um. Me and Shino went on a date?... moms in France, autism is.. autisming?" Artemis replied hesitantly. He didn't see too much point in talking about his autism, he was diagnosed early so by now he had already learnt how to manage it by himself. Obviously his recent diagnosis was a different story however, especially now being medicated for it.

He didn't really have any opinions on Linda, he liked her sure but it wasn't like he had broke his heart crying to her about his life. "Shino and your mom is a new topic we haven't really talked about. Shino recommended you see a therapist correct? You mentioned he was your boyfriend" Linda continued, weirdly interested about the people in Arti's life in his opinion.

"Yeah, boyfriend of... god almost a year now" Artemis said with a smile, reminiscent of all his and Shino's memories. It felt surreal, there where only a few weeks left of Monarch Academy before they break up for summer, and return for their second year. Shit he had his exams coming up soon as well, sure he had revised a bunch but he was still nervous for them.
