Jade Leywin POV

"Mai" I whispered

"Mai, wake up" I said a little louder while reaching for her shoulder and shaking her gently

"Mmh, five more minutes" a tired, groggy and hoarse voice mumbled under the pillow

"You don't have five minutes, well unless you want everyone in the camp to know that you're spending the nights in my cottage" I told her

"Urgh, fine" she slowly shifted to a sitting position and rubbed her eyes while yawning, she crawled out of the bed and started stretching

She was wearing an old and wrinkled white tank top and a pair of black shorts, her hair was a tangled mess that looked like it had its own life, in short she was absolutely stunning and I just wanted to go back in bed with her forgetting everything and everyone outside of this small stone hut

"Okay give me a minute to wash myself" she said as she walked toward the sink

I conjured some water for her so she could wash her face and brush her teeth, after she finished she walked up to me and kissed me lightly

"Morning" she smiled

"Morning"

"Okay turn around, I have to get changed" she ordered

"For the millionth time it's nothing I haven't seen already" I complained

"Turn. around."

"Fine" I said rolling my eyes and turning around to face the wall

"I still don't understand why you never let me watch while you change clothes, as I said it's not like I've never seen you naked, in fact I've seen you plenty of times already" I commented

"Because I know if I let you watch we would end up in bed in less than a minute and it wouldn't be to catch up some sleep" she replied matter-of-factly

I just laughed at this remark, I wonder if she realises that at this distance asking me to turn around is absolutely pointless since my perception gives me a perfect "view" of everything, well I definitely won't tell her since if she really haven't realised this she would most likely kick me out

I turned around after she told me she finished getting changed and watched as she was struggling to untangle her hair

"Urgh, maybe I should just get a haircut and keep them short" she complained as she brushed her hair

"Please don't" I said quickly

"Why? It's quite the pain to brush it every morning also short hair would be more practical for battles too"

"Because I love your hair, I'm sure you would look great with shorthair but I just love playing with them"

"This explains why my hair is always a tangled mess in the morning" she commented

"Sorry, I'll try to be more careful"

"Mmh, do that and I'll think about keeping my hair long" she said as she finished styling her hair

I casted a little invisibility spell on her and we both headed out, Mai sneaked in her tent where my spell disappeared and walked out a little later acting like she just woke up while I headed for the command tent, despite the battle being over our job here was far from being over, we still had to make a list of all the casualties and inform the families, prepare transportation for the more injured soldiers and most important of all we had a good 20000 prisoners to handle

I entered the tent and found Alea already inside working on a massive stack of paperwork, she noticed me and raised her head looking at me

"Quite the early bird you are, especially given the fun you had last night" she commented smirking and wagging her eyebrows
