Neon's P.O.V.:

'ugh, I hate early mornings' , I think to myself as I sip on my coffee I just prepared. I was not a morning person by any means, but it was 7:00 A.M. and no one was up, except for Skye, I still don't know how she does her morning runs at five in the morning.

'I guess I should go for my morning run now. I think I'll take it easy today and only do 10 miles', I decide, and put on my clothes and tie my shoes. I leave my room, and start walking out of headquarters. On my way out I run into Sage, who was also up apparently.

"Where are you going" she asked me politely.

"Oh y'know, just for a little run, maybe to the other side of the country and back is all" I reply with a smile, joking with her.

"Don't overwork yourself, and be careful" she replied with a worried tone.

That was Sage, always caring about everyone, almost like a mother to us all in the protocol. Sometimes it could be a little much though, I mean, what's going to happen on a little run.

"I'll be fine, and I can't overwork myself. I have no limits!", I replied running out of the common room, and eventually out the doors. '

'Ahh, the fresh morning air. The suns not too bright, and its not too hot. Perfect running weather!' I think to myself as I let loose and let my powers work. I launch away from the building, electric contrails following behind me as I run.

Running was my peace, my freedom. There was no feeling quite like it, and within minutes, the city was already behind me, and I started to enter the woods, following the trails within. A smile formed on my face, feeling the breeze in my face. After a few more minutes of running, I stop, catching my breath, putting my hands on my knees and breathing heavily. I brush the sweat off of my forehead and putting my hands on my hips.

After I caught my breath, I began to turn around to head back until I noticed something in the corner of my eye. '

What's that?', I question as I approach a tree on the side of the trail. I analyze the tree, seeing a dark red color smeared against the side of it. I put my finger to the liquid, and pull it back, analyzing it.

'Blood?' I thought to myself as I looked around the area. I quickly noticed more blood on the leaves of the plants on the ground. There was a clear trail of blood leading somewhere, and with curiosity I follow the trail of blood.

'Maybe a wild animal got shot by a hunter and tried to escape'. That was a good assumption, there was a lot of deer hunting in the area.

As I continued to follow the trail, the amount of blood increased more and more, signifying that I was getting closer. 'I wonder what poor creature had to suffer through this. If its still alive I'll put it out of its misery'. However, when I look ahead, I stop in my tracks, and my eyes go wide. In front of me was a man, blood smeared all over him, and a fucking sword was sticking out of his chest.

'The hell?' I question running towards him. He looked bad, worse than bad. He had blood spilling out everywhere, and a Kunai sticking out of his leg. My eyebrows furrow as the knife looks an awful lot like Jett's, almost identical.

After regaining me composure, I see a small up and down movement coming from his stomach, he was still alive. Without thinking, I kneel down beside him and apply pressure to the wounds. Sage taught me a few basic things about stopping wounds from bleeding so I sort of knew what I was doing.

The sword was preventing blood from coming out, so was the knife, so I applied pressure to a gash in his shoulder. The moment I did, he groaned in pain, grabbing my arm.

"Easy you idiot!", I exclaim at him. "If I don't stop the bleeding you're going to die!", I say, trying to help him.

I could feel it in his grasp, he was weak, it looks like he is barely alive. 'What the hell happened to him?' I think, and pull out my phone to call Sage.

"Hello?", I hear. "Sage get out here right now, as fast as possible! Someone is seriously injured!", I say quickly. "I'm on my way", she responds before hanging up.

I look back at him, his face was stained with blood, and it was pale white. His breathing was shallow, and he just looked like shit. "Help is on the way", I say to him, still doing my best to stop the bleeding while waiting for Sage.

Suddenly his shallow breathing stopped, and his body went limp, his cold lifeless eyes stared at me. I put my ear to his chest, nothing. I panicked, I didn't know what to do, but then an idea popped into my head. I remove my gloves and start rubbing my hands together, creating electricity between them. I push my hands on his chest, sending a shock through him, receiving a jolt in response. I put my head back to his chest, still nothing.

'Don't die on me now!' I mumble as I rub my hands together for another shock, only this time much stronger. 'You've got my attention, so don't just die now you asshole', I thought as I sent another shock through him, his body jolted again in response.

I put my head back again. A faint heartbeat was heard, and he was breathing again, not much, but breathing. I released a sigh of relief, because apparently I had been holding my breath.

Moments later a ship arrived and Sage jumped out a few feet away from us. She rushed towards us, examining him. "What happened?", she asked, clearly alarmed at his current state.

"I don't know! I just found him here!", I explain to her. Without warning, she rips out the sword and knife, quickly using one of her orbs to heal him. The cuts and gashes slowly started to vanish, and his breathing started to sound normal.

Two medics exited the ship with a stretcher, rushing quickly to help him. "Get him on board, he is unconscious!" Sage ordered them, to which they quickly obeyed. Sage walked back to the ship, and I follow close behind. The two medics quickly strapped him on the ship, and climbed into the cockpit, quickly taking off.

On the ride back, I couldn't help but look at him. "He's going to be alright", Sage suddenly brings me out of my trance. "I know, but something about this feels...off. How did he end up like this?", I questioned. "I guess we'll have to ask him when he wakes up", She answered.

I was still unsettled by the events of the last ten minutes. I couldn't stop thinking about it, was he attacked? Was he out there to end his own life? Several questions circled my mind as we arrived back at headquarters. They quickly took him to the medical center, Sage following behind.

12 hours later...

I was standing at the top of the building, watching the sunset. I was so confused and shaken, but I didn't understand why. I saw this kind of thing almost everyday on the battlefield, but this was different, this wasn't on the battlefield. I didn't understand why I cared so much, it just felt different. I sighed and went back inside, wondering what tomorrow would hold.

Hopefully this wasn't as shitty as it felt, I suck at writing shit but hopefully this isn't as cringe as it felt.
