#GoUtaWeek2023 Day 3 : Secret Identity

All these years, she had kept her secret identity as his lover. But when she decided to not to, she had to pay the consequences

********************

Sunday and it was mid summer. The Singing Noodle shop would be operating just like any other day. Mrs Iori made sure she had enough ingredients to run the shop til night, it was about to be the busiest hours yet

Utahime took the role at the front, making sure the tables were lined up in correct arrangement. She blew away the dust on the furniture, then she walked into the kitchen

Her mom was nowhere to be found. The back door was left agape, she might be out

The soup boiled on the stove. It smelt nice. Utahime knew it would taste delicious, just like it always been

"Mom! The soup is done I think!", she shouted

Mrs Iori hurried inside and quickly turned off the heat. She sighed in relief as she almost forgot about it

Utahime giggled, shaking her head

Caw! Caw!

The crows squawk, poking on the windows

"Brahh!!", Utahime shoosh-ed them away

Kraaa!

They spread their wings and took off, threatened

Mrs Iori walked to the front door, flipping the signature around to OPEN. Their shop was ready to receive customers for the day

As soon as it was opened, a lot of people already bombarded in. Not a new thing. The Singing Noodle had been around for almost 30 years. It was named after Utahime, the beloved child of Mr and Mrs Iori. And today was the day when everyone would remember her

"The food is free today?", one of the customer asked in disbelief

Mrs Iori nodded her head. "It's my daughter's death anniversary. So I want to treat everyone her favourite food",

"Is that her?", a girl pointed towards the corner where Utahime's photo resided

Mrs Iori nodded her head, smiling sadly

It had been 7 years, and Mrs Iori never failed to hold a memorial day for her daughter every year, and next year, she would be doing it again. And the year after that, after that, and after that too

The only way she could think of to remember her daughter without feeling sad was like this; treating as many people as possible to her favourite food, call her friends and people who were always dear to her, to come over and remember her on this day

"Don't be sad, mom. It's a fine day today", Utahime said, although she couldn't be heard. How she wished she could wipe off the tears from her mother's face

Utahime looked outside and saw a group of youngters approaching. Talking and laughing with each other, catching up to their recent lives. Her ex-students

"Good afternoon, Iori-san!"

Miwa, Momo, Todo, Kamo and Arata. Everybody was here
