My eyes slowly opened. My body was covering Derek's. I had an arm wrapped around his waist and my leg thrown over his legs. I slowly sat up. I groaned when my body felt sore. How long was I sleeping? I looked over at the clock on the stove in the kitchen. It was after two in the afternoon. Damn, I missed school. Well too late to call in now. I sighed.

Derek made a grunting noise before shifting his body. I felt his hand touch my side.

"Good morning," he said in his morning voice. It made me want to drool.

"Good afternoon," I said with a laugh.

He started to slowly stroke my back with the tips of his fingertips. I shivered when he started. I could feel his fingers go over the scars that covered my back. I've lost count of how many I have. He saw the time.

"Sorry you missed school," he said chuckling.

"It's okay. It was worth it," I said smiling and looking at him.

I spent the rest of the day with Derek before going back home. We had cleaned up the mess I had made the night before. I relaxed at home before bed. I watched my comfort movies and ate snacks for a bit before going to sleep.

When I woke up for my alarm for school the next day I was sweating. I remember having a nightmare but not able to remember what happened in it. My mind was trying to remember what happened while I took a quick shower.

I auto-piloted through my morning. Changing clothes, eating some food, and driving to school. It wasn't until I was at my locker that I snapped back into reality.

"Hey Jade, are you okay? You looked spaced out," Scott suddenly said shutting his locker door.

"Uh yeah. I was just thinking and guess I turned myself on to auto-pilot for a bit," I said grabbing my stuff for my morning classes.

"How did your first full moon go?" he quietly asked me.

"Okay," I said hoping my face wasn't blushing.

Stiles came up to us at that moment. "Hey my dad said some hikers found some deer that were mauled before being eaten the other night," he said nonchalantly.

"There's nothing that lives here that would do that," Scott said furrowing his eyebrows.

"Dad has been telling people that ask that it was coyotes."

I kept my mouth shut while they talked.

"I saw the pictures that were taken. Coyotes can't do that," Scott told him. "Something bigger did that."

"Oh hey Jade," Stiles said suddenly.

"Hey Stiles," I said quietly.

"Did you hear about the deer?" he asked me.

"Uhm. I didn't hear about it," I awkwardly said.

"Jade and I were talking about how her first full moon went," Scott said taking some of the tension off me.

"Oh yeah, how did that go?"

"It went okay," I started. "Stuff happened."

"Stuff like?" Stiles asked me like he was interrogating me.

"I may have turned into a panther and killed some deer while I was out there," I mumbled quietly while not looking at them. When I slowly picked my head back up to look at them they were both staring at me in shock. "What?" I asked blinking at them.

The warning bell went off.

"We better get going or we'll all be late."

I ran off before they had time to react. I was one of the last few people to enter the classroom. I sat in my normal seat and got my stuff out. While I was rummaging around in my bag for my pen someone new walked in.
