HERMIONE'S POV
That night, no one slept. All five of us kept sitting around the table until the first light of dawn broke....telling and retelling our lives through different point of views.
And...that was the night when we realised we all got it wrong...
No one was absolutely right or wrong in that deadly battle. Everyone had reasons to do what they did...
Of-course that doesn’t make up for the deeds...
But that certainly removes the opacity from incidents...and gives clarity to one's actions.
I couldn’t forgive Malfoy for hurting me...for calling me mudblood over and over. But now when the rays of sun glistened on his silver orbs, I saw a tormented soul...equally hurt if not more.
Harry went absolutely speechless... and Ron... was clueless about what to do with all this information.
What do you do when you find out your enemy is just another tortured teen....who had his own sets of suffering...what were we supposed to do?
We were long past the phase to just forget everything and be friends...or something even closer to that.
Still now when I close my eyes... I see Bellatrix's face....an evil smirk on her face...and mudblood carved on the skin of my arm...
I can never forget how Lucius Malfoy supported Voldemort till the end...
But I can also not forget that Narcissa saved Harry that day....and Draco's wand didn’t rise to perform the death curse on Dumbledore.
Maybe...we all ran out of choices. Maybe it was too hard to do otherwise. Or maybe it’s destiny.
Not all of us are strong enough to put up a fight... and even the strongests need assurance, a bit of support to keep going.
Those who are left alone often break down...they choose the dark way because the way of light is always harder to walk on.
That day, if nothing else, I realised what a villain is....
A hero that got tired, lonely and loveless.
A weird realisation indeed. But it didn’t seem a bit wrong when I looked infront, where our former batchmate and sworn rival was trying his best to make Primrose understand how the spells work. She was absolutely clueless like she should be, but surprising me, she was curious and not afraid. After learning what that very boy did throughout his life...and with what dark force he got attached with, I found it very unusual for a girl outside out world to not be terrified with Draco. But I can sense...she wasn’t. Rather, when Draco rolled up his sleeves to show the dark mark on his inner left forearm, she ran a hand on it in the gentlest way possible and asked - " Did it hurt? "
I remember the night few days ago when I first found Draco here, in the muggle world.
When I first met Primrose Knight.
I wasn’t wrong that day.
Somehow, our slytherin prince has found a muggle slytherin princess here....and I have no idea what that means for the world of magic.
As the story unfolds, Hermione is touched by Primrose's genuine care... and Draco's side of story.
But what does this mean for both the worlds?
Keep reading to find that out!
