The next morning I woke up to the sound of the house phone ringing from downstairs, I get up and go down stairs while rubbing my eyes and answer the phone, "Hey Will we all had to leave sorry we couldn't say bye before we left man" it was Lucas, Dustin and Mike, "anyway we were wondering if you'd like to come hang out at the fair later?" This time it was only Mike instead of the rest of them I'm guessing they went to go do something else for a bit, "Will?" I heard over the phones speaker I didn't realize how long I was zoned out for, "Uh sure I'll ask if Johnathan or my mom can drop us off" I reply to Mike "Us?" Mike asked confusedly, "Yeah, me and El'' I replied, "She's coming too right?" I ask i thought he meant both me and El when he asked to hang out, "Yeah El can come too I guess" Mike said with a tone of disappointment in his voice, "Great, talk to you later Mike, I gotta go eat before I starve to death" I said sarcastically "Yeah, yeah you go eat before you 'starve'" Mike said mocking me, "Bye Mike" I say with a small laugh, "Bye Will" Mike says between laughing. I hung up and finally ate breakfast before waking up El.
After I ate breakfast I went to El's room and woke her up, "What Will'' El said while rubbing her eyes and yawning, "The party was asking if we could go and hang out at the fair with them, wanna go?" I asked El "Uh sure one second let me get ready" El replied, I left her room so El could get ready I went downstairs and saw Johnathan sitting on the couch watching TV "Hey Johnathan can you take me and El to the fair?" I asked Johnathan, "Sure man whatever" Johnathan replied, I went upstairs to get ready myself since I hadn't had the time to get ready yet. After me and El were ready to go we ran outside to Jonathan's car and hopped in, I don't know why but I felt weird again like the way I used to feel when I was last in Hawkins it's weird.
We finally arrived at the fair, "Hey will, be safe okay?" Jonathan said "don't worry Jonathan I'll be fine I promise" I replied closing the cars door, "Hey will, El over here!" The party called us over, "we're glad you guys could come!" Dustin yelled practically in my ear, "so what do you guys say we go hit a roller coaster first!" Lucas said with excitement, me personally I'm quite scared of roller coasters, "yeah that sounds like fun!" El squealed in excitement, "I'll just get us some drinks and food over here then" I replied "dude come on it's not even that scary please just go with us you'll be fine" Lucas pleaded, "yeah come on will" El said, she didn't really fear many things so she had no idea how this could be scary for anyone, "Will it's gonna be alright I'll be right there nothing and no ones gonna hurt you I promise" Mike whispered trying to help, "fine" I sighed terrified, I was shaking so much I thought I was gonna pass out.
We got on the roller coaster, Dustin and Lucas sat next to each other, me and Mike sat next to each other, and El sat up front by herself in the one seater because she said 'it's funner from up there', my heart sank into my stomach the second the bar was locked in, I must have been quite obvious that I was absolutely terrified because Mike reassured me that 'it's gonna be okay Will I promise' I hope so, because if I wound up dead after this I swear to god I'm gonna kill them. I heard the roller coaster start it always has that one sound of the tracks pulling the cart up, we're going up the drop part and I swear I blanked out for a whole minute because all I remember was me screaming, which to be fair that part is the scariest to me, and all I could do was really tell myself 'you're okay, you're okay' over and over again, finally the roller coaster comes to an end thank god. "See wasn't that fun, Will?" Dustin asked, "Y-yeah totally" I stumbled over my words, I was trembling "Oh come on he was totally scared" Lucas remarked "No it was super fun!" I exclaimed, well even if that isn't 100% true I think that was pretty convincing to be honest.
After the whole argument about if I was scared or if I had fun on the roller coaster we went to go get some food, "Hey Will look out!" El yelled, "Huh?" I asked, to be honest I didn't hear her fully. All I heard was my name, a ball came straight at the back of my head from a little kid who kicked it, "Holy shit dude are you okay?" Dustin asked concerned, "Oh my god, Will are you okay!" Mike yelled running over to me, "Yeah I'm fine" I exclaimed, "are you sure?" Mike asked, "Yes Mike I'm fine I promise" I replied, the ball hadn't hit me THAT hard anyway so I should be fine.
After what felt like FOREVER we finally got our food, I got a hot dog, and fries, Mike got a cheeseburger, El got fries, and some kind of waffle on a stick, Lucas got a regular coke, and a hamburger, and Dustin got fries, and a hot dog. "Hey Will how are you doing anyway?" Dustin asks with his mouth full, "I didn't understand a word you just said Dustin" I said chuckling, "Dustin quit talking with your mouth full it's gross!" Lucas complained, "Oh yeah well deal with it" Dustin replied, then Dustin chewed with his mouth open smacking his lips every time just to annoy Lucas, "Dustin I swear to God if you don't stop I'm going to freak out" Lucas explained, "Too bad so sad" Dustin said sarcastically still chewing loudly and smacking his lips, "That's it!" Lucas yelled running after Dustin, "AHHHH!" Dustin just kept screaming while running away. It was hilarious! "Fine fine I'll stop!" Dustin yelled, "I feel like I can't breathe" Dustin explained through every deep breath, "Walk it off Dustin you'll be fine" Lucas explained, Me, Mike, and El burst out in laughter after their shenanigans.
After Me, Mike, and El were done laughing we all finished our food, "Dude we should totally go on the Ferris wheel!" El exclaimed, "Yeah but isn't there like only four seats in every cartridge?" Mike asked, "Well yeah but you and Will could go on one together and I'll just sit with them no biggie" El replied, now, of course I was happy I could be with Mike but I didn't really want to be on a Ferris wheel with him ALONE, "Alright sounds good" Mike agreed nodding his head yes. We all walk over to the Ferris wheel and sit in our cartridges, El with Dustin, and Lucas, and Me with Mike, which to be honest this could be good for me because we can do some catching up, after all I haven't really seen him for like 2 years, "So Mike how's it been?" I ask, "Not the best since I've missed you guys so much, but better now that you're-you guys are here" Mike said stumbling over his words, "Yeah we missed you a lot as well" I explained, for a while it was just silence since we didn't know what to really say to each other, "Anyway, how is your head feeling?" Mike asked, breaking the silence, "It feels fine Mike, I told you I'm fine" I explained, "If you say so" Mike said. Finally the awkward ride came to an end and we all got off, "Dude did you hear me yelling up there?" Dustin asked, "No sorry" I replied, "Dude I was totally calling for you and you didn't even budge an inch!" Dustin explained, "Yeah sorry I didn't hear you" I replied, "It's alright dude, anyway I think we should go play like a game or something, y'know win some prizes!" Dustin exclaimed, we all agreed and walked over to the games, "Dude check it out we should totally play this!" Lucas yelled, it was a game where you and other people all try to get as much water into a balloon with water guns. Me and Mike decided to go play something else while they all competed, "OO Will check it out, we should totally play this one!" Mike exclaimed, the game Mike was referring to was basically you shoot down aliens, UFOS, and all sorts of space threats, I agreed and we both played it. After a while of playing games it was getting a little late out so we all decided to see if we could spend the night at Mike's house tonight since it was already pretty late.
We found a pay phone and we each called our parents to see if it was okay and they all said yes!, we all got ready and got a ride from Jonathan to the Wheeler's house, "Alright have fun guys" Jonathan said before we all closed the cars doors. We all walked into the Wheeler's house and set up down stairs In the basement for bed, because quite frankly I think we're all exhausted. I know I am. "Hey Will come here for a second please!" Mike called from upstairs in the living room, "Yeah one second!" I yelled from the basement, "Alright what's up Mike?" I ask, "Hey sorry I just needed some help bringing the snacks down there" Mike explained, "Oh okay" I replied grabbing the two platters sitting on the coffee table, Me and Mike bring down the snacks and El, Dustin, and Lucas practically jumped up to get some off of the plates before we even sat the plates down, "Alright there we go" I say placing down the last plate on the coffee table in the basement, I was so tired I didn't even eat or drink any of the snacks I just lied down and fell asleep.
