This is probably the most bored day I had since I woke up in here. It feels like the leaders aren't even discussing the actual topic and started to talk about, dunno, their plans on the weekend. I wish something would happen, anything really. How is everyone else so patient? I'm probably the only one complaining all the time. For what went I through the whole training if no one is going to battle? I might as well could have stayed at home...
I think my bad mood is clearly visible at this point. Even Paola has to ask several times if I'm fine, and I explained to her several times that I'm just bored. Only, after the day is almost over, the leaders decided to tell us their results. Jaku steps up onto a ladder, and Juru standing right next to her. No one really listens when Jaku talked, but after Juru yelled out a loud "Silence!!" everyone suddenly shut the fuck up.
"Thank you, Juru. Ahem. I hereby would like to declare peace between the tall and small people of this city. The International Yeet Day shall now be used as a day of striking and fighting for more equality between the small and tall ones. Also, whoever would like to eat an ice cream, just gather in the nearby park's fountain."
That's it. That's literally it. No fucking way. What is this? Everyone, or almost everyone, heads towards the nearest fountain. It's hard to see Paola, heck, I don't see anyone any more in this whole chaos. I should have stayed at home, why did I decide to get involved in all of this? I feel someone grabbing my hand, I just hope it's Lika in this whole mess.
Heading back home is almost impossible in this whole mess, the other two are probably at the nearest fountain.
Only after this whole thing calmed down, and I suddenly find myself in an alley, I realise it's not Lika. She's probably like Allegra and Paola at the nearest fountain. But then, who-
"I told you we would meet again soon, Ton. I need your little help with something. Say, do you still have the weapon your friend gave you?"
"Wait, wait, hold on. What is going on? I don't think anyone is following it right now."
"I'll be real, we both expected a way, way more brutal way of solving the problem between the small and tall ones. We all did. That's why we were trained the past weeks, in case something terrible happens."
"I was only trained for a day."
"Then your disappointment isn't as big as mine. Either way, we both still have to learn a lot about this world. Apparently war, fighting, arguments... It all doesn't exist in here. Everything in here is perfect."
"I wouldn't call it perfect. Way too many chairs for my personal taste."
"Perfect in the eyes of the citizens living here, then. But for the both of us? I think we're done with this, aren't we?"
"I guess..."
"So, followed everything until now?"
"We both don't belong to this world, today's day was the most boring day out there, our hard work was put in waste, and it apparently only bothers us two and no one else?"
"Well done putting it all together, yes. Now, let me repeat my question again, do you still have your weapon with you?"
"Yeah, I still do. Why do you want to know it?"
"I want to try something out... Breaking one of the mirrors, to be more exact."
"Uh, I wouldn't like to try that out."
"How so?"
"I heard they hold back a greater evil, and breaking them would cause chaos and all that."
"This city needs a bit of chaos."
"I wouldn't want to mess with it. You surely have a weapon, too. Why not using your own?"
"I did. It doesn't seem to be working..."
"Then why hoping that mine would work?"
"Hope dies as the last one, right? I thought trying it out wouldn't hurt."
"Breaking one of the mirrors and calling that hope? No, no, I won't be a part of this, sorry, Kirai."
"I see... It's alright, I will have to find out a way on my own then."
"Just, whatever you do, don't mess with the mirrors, please. I don't know what's up with them, but whatever it is, don't mess with them."
"I can't promise you that. I'll find a way to get out of this world. Even if this means plunging this whole city, the whole world, into chaos."
"Kirai-"
"We'll see each other again eventually. I'm sure of it."
"But wait-"
However, she already takes her leave. Her whole attitude changes completely once I denied her request... That soothing voice of a mother was suddenly gone. It's like she dropped the whole act of being caring and forgiving.
For a moment I actually thought of following her, but she would have probably snapped on me or something. I really hope she doesn't start messing with the mirrors. There has to be a different way out of here, right?
Who am I asking, I'm standing alone in an alley. Lika must be worried about me...
