Of course, Renee had been doing her thing with WWE. However, she had always made the effort to watch AEW and support her husband and best friend in any way she could.
The blonde had been especially supportive after hearing about what occurred at Brooklyn's birthday. Her and Jon were the only people who knew.
Jon's reaction had been expected: he immediately attacked the age-gap angle and jokingly accused Tyson of being a pervert. Of course, he never repeated what Brooke had told him outside of their bubble per Brooke's request. She was thankful Jon hadn't treated him any differently. Brooklyn Irvine knew that any other person in their group would have disapproved and ruined everything; it made her appreciate Jonathan Good that much more.
She knew that Renee wasn't actually available for a phone call. She was doing her thing over at WWE at the same time they were doing their thing at AEW. Brooke had her times to talk to her twin, Jon just always used it as a scapegoat to get Brooke out of awkward situations.
The blonde followed her bigger friend down the hallway, leaving Tyson behind. The man with the crazy hair sighed, eyes longing for the girl he could barely speak to anymore.
Was he ashamed? No. That was the problem.
Every day that he crosses paths with Chris and the guys he is lying to them and himself. He shouldn't have kissed her, but he can't imagine life without her. He'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it.
Chris' ten minutes were almost up. Tyson wanted to leave before he had to face him again.
What he hadn't expected was Sammy to follow him. Of course, he had no beef with the boy behind the scenes. In fact, Sammy was a close friend of the group and beloved by Chris. However, Sammy was everything that Tyson wasn't and therefore was the perfect match for Brooke, and that killed him.
Sammy was young, and handsome, and liked all the same things Brooke did. Tyson on the other hand was seventeen years older than the girl, didn't drink, and opted for a night in with video games. Why did Brooke ever want to kiss him?
Did she feel bad when he gave his response? Was it out of pity? He couldn't imagine it be because she liked him back.
He was at the age of having children, though he didn't necessarily want any of his own. He should be married like Cody and Brandi and traveling with the love of his life, and instead he goes to bed at 10 pm and spends his free time choosing between the Xbox or the PS4.
"Shouldn't you be the one walking around with that girl right now instead of Jon?" Sammy asked from behind Tyson.
The older man stiffened. Did Brooke tell him? She couldn't have. She was young but she wasn't stupid.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, turning around.
Sammy shrugged. "Anyone in their right mind can see that you hate watching her walk away," he responded as if it was common knowledge. If that were the case, Cody and Chris would have killed him by now.
"She's not leaving my life forever, I'll see her in twenty minutes," he casually answered.
Sammy laughed. "Maybe that was true before, but things are different now."
"How do you mean?" Tyson asked, feeling sick to his stomach.
Sammy seemed to have it all figured out in his head. "I haven't seen a sincere smile out of her since her birthday. You can't tell me you're not the reason why."
Tyson's heart sunk at that.
Sammy continued. "All I'm saying is, if she was into me and not you, I wouldn't let her walk away like that."
