Jade Leywin POV
| 3 months later |
"We finished placing landmines across the Elshire forest and we are monitoring the borders with sensory mages and spy-golems" the soldier finished his report
We were currently in the middle of a Council meeting, Aldir still didn't come back from Epheotus which makes me think that the old lizard was foolish enough to launch his attack on Agrona and was forced to cease giving us any kind of help, well aside from training Art since he's still in Epheotus as well, since given the nature of the Elshire forest it was impossible to build a fortified defensive line like The Wall I gave Gideon the project to produce landmines to place all across the forest, since they didn't rely on mana to work they're absolutely impossible to notice
"Great with these defences of the..."
"AAAAAHHH!!!" I yelled as a sharp pain hit me and I bent over the table clutching my sternum
"Jade!!" Mai immediately reached out to me
"You go call an emitter now!" Virion ordered and the soldier scrambled out and started running
"AAAAHHH!!!" I yelled again as another burst on pain coursed through my body spreading outward from my mana core
"Jade, what's wrong?" Aya asked
I focused inward and watched my mana core, the bright silverish sphere placed just below my solar plexus was releasing bursts of mana at irregular intervals, these bursts were the cause of the sharp pain running across my body
I let out some unintelligible growl, while heaving as the bursts became more and more frequent, I focused again on my core examining it accurately and I noticed that with every burst of mana a little bit of the silverish surface that was completely riddled with cracks came off and the white light seeping through the cracks became increasingly brighter
Despite the almost unbearable pain racking my body I couldn't help having a smirk plastered on my face as I knew what was happening to me
"About.......damn........time....." I managed to mutter before losing consciousness

"I-I don't understand commander" a muffled voice said
"What? What's wrong with him?"
"Nothing, nothing at all in fact the general is in a much better shape than he should be, based on his weekly checkups while he's recovering he should still be injured but from what I can see he's basically fully recovered now"
"Then why did he suddenly yell in pain before losing consciousness?!"
"I-I'm sorry I-I don't know"
"How is someone supposed to sleep if you guys yell so much?" I muttered tiredly as I opened my eyes
"BRAT!!! YOU'RE AWA-"
"JADE!!!" before Virion could finish he was shoved to the side by Mai and mom who rushed to me
"Are you all right? What happened? Do you feel any pain?" mom barraged me with questions
"I'm fine mom, in fact I don't think I ever felt better, how long was I out?" I reassured her
"For a couple of hours, the emitters couldn't find anything wrong with you so we all got pretty worried" Mai told me
"Good to hear that you're fine brat but care to explain why you gave a heart attack to half of the Castle?" Virion asked while getting up from the floor
