"Gabriella..."

She could hear Isabella's voice, but she couldn't see her. Everything in front of her was blurry, her own legs threatening to buckle under the weight of the news. She didn't know how she dragged herself out of that room.

She knew she had to.

And even if she had wanted to keep the truth from Isabella; it was written all over her face. Had she thrown up? She couldn't remember. There was a horrid, bitter taste in her mouth - it was probably that.

She wanted to tell her to shut up, but all she mustered was to shove her by extending her hand in front of her. Goddamn it. Get it together Gabriella - she had to face Niccolo. And he wouldn't be easily fooled, especially not after he had already spotted something was wrong.

Fucking shit.

Gabriella straightened her body and took a deep breath, running her fingers through her damp, sweaty hair, feeling the drops on her scalp. Come on. It was a baby. She knew it was a possible outcome; it was the reason why she took a test.

So why was she so goddamn surprised?

That's what you get for not being careful. That's what you get for thinking nothing mattered anymore.

Something very real was here now. And she had to make a decision about it. Many decisions. Getting rid of it? Keeping it? Telling Nico about it?

Why was Isabella the only person who knew? Someone whose opinion was so very fucking useless to her. Someone who couldn't help her in this dilemma. Fucking great.

"Gabriella, I understand I'm not someone-"

"You're no one, alright?"

If Isabella hadn't come along - they probably would have died. She knew that. But she hated her anyways.

"Did you have to wonder about this? Did you have to think when you left your child behind, your whole family? DID YOU CARE? No. And now it's too late, everyone is gone and you decide to come back. What a fucking useless bitch you are. WHY NOW? Because you don't care anymore? You've lived your life of luxury, so you don't care if you die? WHY DIDN'T YOU DIE BEFORE? SO EVERYBODY WOULD BE SAFE? SO IT WOULDN'T BE LIKE THIS?"

Gabriella clutched her stomach, saliva dripping from the side of her mouth as the rage ignited inside of her roll around her chest in waves. It was always something. Always. She could not get a break, a moment to breathe. Something was always suffocating her.

"Was it everything you dreamed of? Living a life where you had enough money, you took out all the fucking families around here? You snapped your fucking fingers and it happened. Do you know what I had to endure? What Nico had to do so we could maybe have a shot at killing one person?"

She couldn't hear anything - not that Isabella's mouth was moving. Her blood was rushing in her ears, her head thumping so loud she thought she would go deaf if it kept going.

"Why do you get to come now? Do you understand? I don't care why, I don't care what you want. I'm never gonna forgive you... this...." she said, gesturing between the two of them, "it will never be a relationship. There will never be anything here. You can't come, and solve everything. You shoulda done it before. Even if you died. You should have been willing to come that far. You shoulda known."

Gabriella's hands were fisted, shaking by her sides as the familiar sting of tears filled her eyes. She wouldn't cry in front of her, not her. She didn't deserve any part of her, she didn't deserve her tears. She deserved nothing.
