"Which is why investing our time and effort in the Amo 105 smart watch is a great idea. Firstly, the name is in honor of our later director and this is child friendly. By producing it, we aren't only targeting adults but also kids who are obsessed with technology." Zara, the product assistant manager states. She is pitching this new smart watch idea and I am just paying attention. It's a great initiative, I won't lie. But this has been done before. It's kind of redundant.

"Well a lot of companies have done that, including OPPO which recently produced a rather cool one. What is to say that this will top off all our competitors and still stay child-friendly and affordable?" The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) asks.

Zara clears her throat. "This is the first watch in the Amo smart watch series. It has a 260 mAh (batter capacity), with 17M pixels, a magnetic charging method, its batter can last up to twenty days. Amongst the common heart rate sensor and blood pressure sensor, this one is beneficial to people who suffer from panic attacks, heart attacks, asthma and even allergies and other diseases that require immediate medical attention. It does not only warn you about the attack, but alerts your next of kin, locates and alerts the nearby hospital at that time. It is water, fire and dust proofed, it comes with a back-up silicone wristband which you might not need because the original band is strong and resistant. The price can start at R3000 and the adult version can start at R5000." That ain't affordable to most people, but I am not judging. The watch seems like a really cool gadget with a lot of special features.

"Do you have a prototype?" I ask and everyone turns to look at me. Are they shocked by the use of the work prototype or that I asked something? "I am impressed by your idea, Zara, and if your product is worth it, I would like us to start producing it. But for now, I wanna see it and have it tested. Also, one executive member can give it to their child and come back to us with a feedback after a week. But as the CEO, I would like to test the prototype."

Zara smiles. "Which colour would you like, Miss Myeni?"

"Black. Set up a meeting with the CTO, the interim operations manager, the QA specialist and your superior. On our next meeting, I need good news only. Can you do that for me?"

She quickly nods. "I will have yours delivered to your office before the day ends. Thank you for this. You won't regret it."

"I hope so. Next pitch." A hacker stands up and walks to the podium. Just as he is about to speak up, Pule knocks and walks into the boardroom, interrupting the meeting. Whatever he has to say is really important.

"Apologies, Miss Myeni. There is a family emergency that you have to attend to and it can't wait." He states and I stand up.

"I am sorry everyone. Please proceed with the meeting and whoever is presenting can send me their PowerPoint presentation to my email. I will read it overnight and then get back to you." I walk out and we head over to the elevator. "What is so urgent that it couldn't wait for a mere hour?" I ask as soon as the elevator closes and starts to descend.

"Miss Ntombela was shot. She was outside your apartment building and she was gunned down by a man who the IT team is currently working on his identity. We will definitely know who did this before the day ends. However, we do know that Miss Nozizwe was not the target, but you rather. So your safety is of paramount importance and the minister has added a few guards to your entourage."

What? Nozizwe was shot? But why? Who would do such a cruel thing? And now she has to die for my sins? Fuck. My life was so much better before Amos decided to make me his heiress. Now I am constantly living in fear of my life. If it isn't poisons I am avoiding, I am dodging bullets. Whoever that is doing this, what are they hoping to achieve in the end? Is my death going to give them inner peace?
