With the widely distributed VR Zelda package from Nintendo, I was able to grab the Bokoblins and swing it off and slay it. I wiped the sweat off my face and looked at the camp who had been alerted of my presence.
(Y/N): Alright! Come at me.
I slash through a Bokoblin with my Traveler's Claymore. I was ambushed by the pig-like creature. I sighed as I sheath my blade and looked around the Great Plateau.
'Where the heck is that shrine?' I thought quietly.
???: You seem lost, young traveler.
He had a shaggy beard, and tattered clothes, and held a walking stick in the palm of his hands.
???: What brings you here to the Great Plateau?
I looked at him and decided to humor the old man.
(Y/N): *Slight Mockery* I'm searching for the First Champion, the one who was supposedly brought here.
???: Hm, well I think you'll find what you're searching for in that cave.
He points out a cave on the base of the nearby cliffs. I'm surprised by the old man's intellect, but he seems noble enough to know some of this small information.
(Y/N): Thank you, sir.
I take off in the direction of the cave. The man watches with a careful look in his eyes.
???: *About (Y/N)* That boy. There is something unique about him. Otherworldly perhaps.
I reach the cave and venture inside. I see two treasure chests and open them to reveal a typical shirt and pants. Suddenly a hidden door opens to reveal a blonde Hylian female.
Holy-! My face turns beet red as I force myself to look away as I had not come equipped with the knowledge of a female Link. I grab the clothes I just grabbed from the chests a second ago.
(Y/N): H-Here.
She blushes back and I force myself to calm down. She turns around and silently puts them on, then taps your shoulder and you face her.
(Y/N): Are you, Link?
She looked confused by the question as if the answer was blatantly obvious.
Link: Y-ye-
She starts coughing up dust and debris that had fallen into her slumbering spot.
(Y/N): Your voice is probably going to be hoarse after several centuries, *Holds Flask* here.
She gladly takes the flask but bows before drinking.
Link: T-Thank you...
She seemed rather reluctant to thank me but did so anyway. I could see that even if a female, Link still had the making of a knight. I nodded and lead out of the cave and bumped into the old man again.
???: There is a pedestal off in the distance, I believe that Sheikah Slate will activate it. Perhaps the many questions you probably have will be answered then.
On your way to the pedestal, the two of you are attacked by Bokoblins that I just fought off a minute ago. Link grabs a nearby tree branch and whacks a Bokoblin across the head with the said branch. I look at her in confusion.
Link: Did you have any better ideas?
I looked down at my rusting claymore.
(Y/N): Yeah. *Unseths Claymore*
I threw it at them and as the Bokoblins weren't too tactical I was able to ricochet it around them knocking them all out. The two of us kill the monsters and you gather their horns, fangs, and guts for elixirs while Link takes a Boko Shield and Travelers Sword. The two of us reach the pedestal and you examine it.
(Y/N): The symbol of the Sheikah... that man said to place your Sheikah Slate on it. Come on!
Link unclips the device from her hip and places it on the pedestal. This causes the ground to shake and a buried tower rises from underneath the two of us. It is then revealed that the towers put parts of the map of Hyrule into the Sheikah Slate. The two of us climbed down the tower and were greeted by the old man on a paraglider.
(Y/N): You knew this would happen, didn't you?
The man chuckled good-naturedly.
???: Call it a hunch, now. As you know, the Great Plateau is extremely high. If one leaps off, no death would be more foolish. But I'll give you my paraglider if you get the treasure from that Shrine.
He points out a shrine that glows orange.
Link: But you have only one.
I looked at the man quizzically. I knew I should have grabbed a paraglider from Kakirko! Link looked back at me.
(Y/N): I'll be fine without one.
She nods and enters the shrine.
(Y/N): *Semi Clueless* This is her first trail, and you won't let her get that paraglider without it. Am I correct, King of Hyrule?
The king looked at me with a shocked expression.
King ???: You catch on quick, (Y/N).
I'm in a greater shock than he ever was. Maybe I should have expected him to catch on.
King ???: Yes, I can see the malicious parts of you. *Points Towards Heart* Right here.
Malice? Does he mean that...
King ???: There are many secrets that you don't know about yourself, young (Y/N).
(Y/N): You know exactly what Princess Zelda did to summon me!
He simply nods.
King ???: It was bold of you to assume that your entrance into our realm would go unnoticed."
As we kept going back and forth between my purpose in this world, a fit of coughs echoed through the Great Plateau.
Illuminating in a golden glow, Link stood. As I looked at the old man who had disappeared, leaving two paragliders in his wake. One that looks like the one from Breath of the Wild and one that looks like the one from Tears of the Kingdom, which suddenly reminded me, Tears of the Kingdom will still happen in this incarnation of the story.
