"Hey you guys know the rule, lights out and get into bed

"Hey you guys know the rule, lights out and get into bed." I yelled while playfully tossing my youngest brother Michael on the bed, making him laugh and kick his little legs around.

John my other little brother wrapped his arms around my waist and begged "Just five more minutes, Wendy please." He always think he can butter me up with his cute baby face and glasses, but it's not gonna work this time.

"Now Jonny you know Mama is going to take us to see Aunt Mary early tomorrow, so you guys have to be up and ready." I explained for the third time tonight, while rubbing his head. He sighed and slightly stomped to his bed.

Since my mother is a nurse, she works some late hours at the hospital leaving me to watch my ten and seven year old brothers. Which is not a problem because half of the time they act like angels and play and read to themselves and the other half they're arguing, yelling, and try to punch each other eye out.

Some people ask if it bothers me that at the age of nineteen all I do is spend majority of my time watching my brothers and staying inside, and yeah sometimes it does but I know our mother does the best she can to provide for us and that includes taking more hours at the hospital. So I don't mind watching my brothers and I'm not really an outdoors type of girl anymore, I'll rather listen to music in my room and read for hours.

My phone started ringing and I see it's my friend Holland calling me, probably trying to get me to sneak out again. I walked towards their bedroom door and said "Okay what if I read you guys a bedtime story, will that make y'all feel better?"
They nodded while getting settled into their beds and under their covers. "Okay just give me a few minutes and I'll come back and read you guys any story you want, just try to quietly agree to one."

I heard them loudly whispering which story would be best as I made my way out their room into mine across the hall and answered my phone, "Wendy what will it take for you to come to this party with me?"

I chuckled at her question because usually Holland like to beat around the bush first but I guess she really wants me to go, "Holly you know I got the boys tonight, I can't just leave them alone for hours." Now if she was asking to chill in her car I wouldn't be too against it but I don't want to go off somewhere too far from them in case one of them wakes up or an emergency happens.

"Come on Wendy, we'll be only like an hour and thirty minutes tops. I know you're tired of being cooped up in the house." She begged loudly in the phone. Knowing her after she gets some liquor in her  body she won't stop partying for nobody.

"I know it's been a while since we had a girls night out, but the landlord raised the rent again so my mom had to pick up some more hours at the hospital. She's off tomorrow so maybe we can go out tomorrow together."

She dramatically sighed and said "Fine....fine, but you're taking me to that new ramen restaurant in Chinatown."

I chucked "You got a deal and maybe we can finally try out that karaoke place too."
