Request - I would love to request a story of Kayce as a girl dad! Maybe like starting as a toddler all the way up into her teenage years!

Author's Note – My ovaries are exploding...

Age Three

Kayce was trying his best to cook both the bacon and the eggs at the same time. You bit your lip to keep yourself from laughing as you watched from the doorway into the kitchen. Your three-year-old daughter, Margaret, was standing on one of the bar stools "helping" Kayce cook you a Mother's Day breakfast.

"Daddy...the bacon is spitting," Your daughter said.

"I know, Mag Pie," Kayce glanced at her but then got popped by the grease. "Shit...It's-uh, supposed to do that when it's cooking."

"Mommy likes hers like mine," Your daughter looked over and finally spotted you. "Mommy!"

You knew the gig was up and walked in, scooping up your daughter into your arms. You pressed a few sloppy kisses to her cheek.

"Happy Momma's Day!"

"Thank you, Maggie," You cooed. "You made me a Momma, that's for sure."

"Daddy is cooking," Maggie pointed at Kayce.

"I can see that," You gently put Maggie down and walked up to Kayce.

"Hey," Kayce pressed a kiss to your forehead.

"Thank you," You squeezed him tight before Maggie was back Kayce's leg.

"Daddy," Maggie cried. "I have to help...she's, my Momma!"

Kayce leaned down and grabbed Maggie, holding her on his hip as he stirred the eggs. You pressed a kiss to her cheek, enjoying this picture way too much.

Age Seven

"You have to push the peddles with both your feet, Mag Pie," Kayce said, walking up behind Maggie on her new bike.

"I don't wanna fall!" Maggie looked like she was almost about to cry.

Kayce sighed, glancing at you who he had told to sit on the porch as he walked around and bent in front of the bike.

"Baby, you can't be scared to fall down," Kayce smiled. "We all fall down; it's about getting back up and trying again. You don't want to be left behind by your brothers, do you?"

"No," Maggie pouted.

"Alright then," Kayce got up and held Maggie upright on the bike. "I've got you now so start peddling but then I'm gonna let you go, and you have to hold yourself up."

You held your breath as Kayce and Maggie started running toward the house. Kayce then let Maggie go and she peddled hard. She was able to stay upright for a minute before she had to put her feet down to keep her from falling over. But her smile back at Kayce was all he needed to know she believed in herself now.

Age Thirteen

"You ain't' wearing that," Kayce said, and it made you look over your shoulder to see your daughter with a cut-off band t-shirt showing off a small sliver of her stomach and then her jeans.

"It's a country music concert, Dad," Maggie sighed, crossing her arms. "Momma please tell him this is okay."

You looked at Kayce who had an equally challenging face as his daughter on. Sighing, you faced Maggie again.

"How about you put a jacket on?" You tried to meet them both in the middle.

"It's August!" Maggie rolled her eyes.

"Change your shirt or you can stay here and babysit your little brother instead," Kayce frowned.

"You're not being fair," But Maggie was already turning around.

You wrapped your arm around Kayce's back, making him look down at you. His expression softened.

"It wasn't that bad," You smiled. "I wore worse things than that when I was younger."

"Yeah, I remember," Kayce smirked. "Which is why I'm making her change...I remember my thoughts about you. I ain't having some boys think that about my daughter."

Age Sixteen

"Shut up!" Maggie had both her hands over her mouth.

"This is a huge responsibility," Kayce said to her.

"Daddy..." Maggie walked over to Kayce and hugged him hard.

You smiled, holding onto the reigns of Maggie's brand-new colt Kayce had just brought down from Billings. The girl didn't even have her license yet, but she now had a horse...if she wasn't Kayce Dutton's daughter you didn't know who she was.

"It's all on you," Kayce looked down at Maggie. "The feeding, washing, training, everything."

"Thank you," Maggie walked over to you and hugged you next. "Thank you so much!"

"This was all your Daddy," You smiled at Kayce over Maggie's shoulder before she pulled away. "He's so proud of you."

For the rest of the afternoon, you watched Kayce teach Maggie some of his old techniques.

Age Eighteen

You and Kayce were in his truck on the way back from Missoula. You had just left Maggie there for her first semester at college. The tears had finally dried on your cheek, but you and Kayce had been unusually quiet on the ride home.

You glanced over and saw Kayce's eyes were still red as he drove. Reaching over you rubbed his arm. Kayce pulled his hand back so your fingers could slide through his.

"She'll be home for Thanksgiving in no time," You whispered, and Kayce just nodded. "I don't know what you're worried about...we've got two more at the house."

Kayce let out a chuckle.

"I know," He smiled. "But she's my baby girl."

You tightened your hold on him.
