Though it felt like days we've been stuck on the plane, it was only 3 hours. As we got closer and closer to Utah beach, Ican hear and see that the battle had begun. Explosions rattling our planes, fire burning across the entire beach, Germans yelling out battle cries echoed.

The men and I put all of our helmets back on and grabbed our hooks, preparing to jump any second. Once the red light turned on, that was our que.

"GET READY!" Winter yelled motioning to us all, especially the ones in the back who couldn't hear a thing.

"Stand up! Hook On! Equipment check! Sound for Equipment check!"

"10 okay!"

"9 okay!"

"8 okay!"

"7 okay!"

"6 okay!"

"5 okay!"

"4 okay!"

"3 okay!"

"2 okay!"

"1 okay!"

For some reason, we stood there for another good 5 minutes as the piolets argued about when to let us off. All of a sudden, our plane was hit. Everyone was rock back and fourth, men falling over, glass shattering around us. What made me worried was that it took out the co-piolet.

"Oh no! Oh no!" The piolet cried out, finally pushing the button giving us the signal to prepare to jump.

"Let's go!!" Winter yelled before jumping off the plane. I stood there wide eye realizing what was going on.

When it was my turn, I jumped. All I could see in the sky was the shadows of other paratroopers falling with their parachutes out. We weren't hitting the drop zone at all.

Bullets, fires, and explosions is all I could see and hear. All of a sudden I fell to the hard ground. My parachute got cut from my bag and I rolled down a muddy hill, hitting a bunch of branches as I fell.

I groaned before standing up, realizing I was all alone.

"Son of a bitch" I whispered to myself. I patted myself all around. I had lost my gun, parachute, compass, water, and amo. The only thing I had was my knife.

Luckily, due to Nixon's teaching, I was able to understand directions with or without a compass. So looking around, I started walking west of where I was.

3 hours later

It had felt like I was walking for days now. I finally found a train track I decided to follow. Haven't ran into any Germans yet. Kind of glad I haven't since the only think I have is my knife.

Continuing to walk west, I still haven't met with anyone yet. We must have really miss the drop zone by a lot for all us to be this list. I thought to myself.

I was in my thoughts when all of a sudden I heard a bunch of gun shots, and screaming horses. I quickly ran closer to where all the noise was coming from, but came to a halt when I saw a bunch of dead Germans and horses on a carriage.

I heard rustling in the trees, so I hid behind the carriage, grabbed my clicker, and clicked it.

I heard gun rise, "Flash!" Lipton whispered.

"Thunder!" I whispered back. I came out slowly with my hands up so they knew it was me. The boys dropped their guns and had a worried look on their faces.

I was covered in a bunch of mud, and now blood after hiding being the carriage which had dripping blood on it.

"Y/n is that you? Jesus, we didn't even recognize you." Lipton said pulling me into a hug, along with the guys copying the same gesture.

"Yeah it's me. I lost my parachute when I got closer to the ground and fell down a muddy hill." I said.

"What about the blood?" Winters said looking me up and down worriedly.

"It was from the carriage I hid behind after you guys got done shooting" I replied. They all sighed before moving on.

Before I could follow the men, Winters pulled me back to him.

"I'm so glad you're safe" he said creasing my face, eyeing every part to me to make sure I wasn't hurt.

I smiled putting my hand over his, "I'm fine Dick. Don't you worry about me. They ain't tough enough to hit me"

He gave out a small laugh before realizing how far the men were getting.

"Okay, we should start heading to the town." He dropped his hand and quickly kissed my forehead before jogging to the men.

I slightly smiled to myself with butterflies before following.

On the walk, I realized how Gaurnere looked pretty pissed, but I didn't say anything to him because I didn't want him to be more pissed than he already was.

Apparently before we jumped, Gaurnere's brother was shot in Monte Casino. He found out by reading a letter in Johnny's jacket he accidentally took.

"Hey Wild Bill" I said to him smiling.

He gave me a small smile, "so glad we found you, we was worried you'd be dead or something."

"Nah, they ain't tough enough to get me yet" I smirky .

"Winters looked happy too." He smirked giving me a side eye.

"Of course he is. He doesn't want to lose any of his paratroopers." I tried covering up, which was also the truth. We don't wanna lose anyone.

"Mhmm, sure. That's the only reason." He said sarcastically. I smacked his arm and we continued to walk until we saw the light of day.

We walked through more woods, ponds, fields, you name it. After about a day, we finally made it to the town close to Utah beach. There, we saw many paratroopers from different companies. Some had more than others, but I figured that the rest were either dead or still scattered around Normandy.
