A small clarification, and not the least, I want to mention, that Alessia's mutism does not reflect a clinical reality (in other words, I took some liberties with reality).
Our FL indeed has traumatic mutism (I prefer to clarify in advance that it does not involve sexual violence), but it doesn't affect her ability to make eye contact with people around her any more than a typical child would. You'll learn more by reading :)
The first chapters will be from an omniscient point of view until adulthood. After the Sabaody arc, they will be from different points of view (because I never knew how to choose) :
