It was silent in your garden, two minds racing and never meeting, you never liked it when it was quiet in your garden. "I'll be heading out now, seems that there are others here that don't appreciate my presence." You gave Reaper an odd look before turning your head over, your face lighting up the second you saw the twins giving you a wave. You turned over to say goodbye to Reaper, only to find the patch of grass slowly starting to heal, your powers growing onto it slowly.
Turning round, you walked over to the twin brothers, watching as they scolded each other, only pausing the second you were in front of them. "Y/n!" Dream called out, throwing himself into your arms with little hesitance, you laughing and accepting the embrace. Nightmare stood there with his usual scowl, crossing his arms as he looked at the two of you hug and talk few things out. He never understood how his brother was so casual with you, the only reason he agreed to a truce was for you, so he can't help but wonder, when does this truce end?
He was so lost in thought that he hadn't heard your callings, only when a hand was placed upon his skull did he shake his eye awake. "Are you alright, Nightmare?" You asked him, Dream holding onto your other free hand with a wide smile, his eyes never leaving your figure. Nightmare stood there for a moment before huffing and crossing his arms, you laughing at his actions. "Once upon a time, you were just like your brother." You whispered to no one in particular, but both the twins easily caught up on it. Sure, there was a time like that, but that time is long gone.
With a hum, you dragged the brothers over to a fresh patch of grass, sitting on it to converse with them. "So, tell me again, how old were you both?" You questioned, though you were friends with them, your friendship was always distant. Only up until a few years ago did the three of you start to bond more, after Dream had broken free from his prison. You knew the two of them before hand, of course you did, but it was mostly just a few light hugs and greetings, nothing serious.
Dream raised a finger up to his chin and thought, glancing over at his brother for an answer, Nightmare only huffing at his arrogance. "503, except I've matured far more than he has." You laughed lightly at the comment, but you knew that tension was easily rising with the comment.
Clearing your throat to distance the brothers from the harsh topic, you placed a hand on your chest to gesture towards yourself. "I guess that makes me your senior!" You laughed a little, the twins looking different ways to avoid your kind stare. "I'm just short of three thousand, I would've lost count by now if Ink didn't keep reminding me about our age gap!" The twins were taken aback and whipped their heads back over to you. Three thousand? No wonder you knew so much.
With a sigh, everything went quiet again until you question how the twins life was going, they were both hesitant to answer. "We've come to a sort of agreement, so you won't have to worry about us getting into any physical fights." Dream announced, weaving flowers into a crown as you sat in front of the two, demonstrating how exactly to do it. You hummed and nodded, focused in on your work. "What about you? How have your people been treating you?" Dream asked with a lift in his tone, Nightmare glancing up from his handiwork to further push that he was curious too.
You smiled sweetly and stopped your weaving, the twins slowly doing the same as they gave you curious glances. "They've been the sweetest, I couldn't have asked for better civilians. Though they worship me despite my countless asks to not, I still see serenity deep within their souls. It makes my own ache with delight." You reached up and placed a hand over your chest, right where your teal lit soul laid, one that you showed to no one but yourself. "Even after I take different forms, it seems that the mind knows who soul is who's. They have been so kind, especially since a few days ago was my birthday." And with a soft hum, you got back to weaving, your mind set to rest after thinking such peaceful thoughts.
