As I spotted Sawyer in the distance, my heart leaped with excitement. It had been a while since we last met, and I couldn't wait to see him again. My legs carried me swiftly towards him, a wide grin stretching across my face. "Sawyer!" I called out, unable to contain my excitement.

Sawyer turned towards me, a bright smile matching my own. "Max! Hey, buddy! It's great to see you again!"

I reached him, and we immediately embraced in a warm hug, our laughter filling the air. It felt like no time had passed since our last adventure together. We were just two young trainers with dreams as big as the sky.

"Man, I've missed you, Sawyer!" I exclaimed, still unable to wipe the smile off my face.

"I've missed you too, Max," Sawyer replied, patting me on the back. "You won't believe what happened since we last saw each other."

Curiosity piqued, I leaned in, eager to hear his story. "What happened, Sawyer? Tell me everything!"

Sawyer's eyes sparkled with excitement. "You remember my starter, right? Well, he evolved into a Sceptile! He's become an incredible powerhouse, Max. I couldn't be prouder."

My eyes widened in awe and admiration. "No way! That's amazing, Sawyer! I knew your Sceptile was special. It must be so cool to have a fully evolved starter on your team."

"You should know! You have two!" Sawyer's grin widened. "You bet it is! Sceptile and I have been training hard together, pushing ourselves to reach new heights. It's been an incredible journey."

I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for my friend. "I'm so happy for you, Sawyer. You've come a long way as a trainer, and it's incredible to see your progress. We'll have to battle again, with your powerful Sceptile and all!"

Sawyer chuckled. "Oh, you're on, Max! It'll be an epic rematch, for sure. But remember, I won't go easy on you!"

I playfully nudged him. "Bring it on, Sawyer! I'm ready for the challenge. Our battles are always the best."

As we continued chatting and catching up, a feeling of pure joy enveloped me. Reuniting with Sawyer, sharing stories of our pokemon journeys, and knowing that we were still on this adventure together—it filled my heart with warmth and happiness. In that moment, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the incredible friendships that pokemon had brought into my life. And Sawyer, with his evolved Sceptile by his side, was a shining example of the extraordinary bonds we form with our pokemon and the adventures that lie ahead.

After a while, I decided to go and ask Ash to be our referee. Catching up was fun, but not as much fun as battling! And we were ready for our rematch! However, when I found Ash, he was not alone. Much to my surprise, Alain was with him.

"How are you doing? All healed up?" Ash asked Alain kindly.

"We all are," Alain assured Ash. "I got all of my pokemon back and they are completly healed up. I even got Tyranitar and Unfezant to join me officially."

Ash raised an eyebrow at that. "They were not already yours?"

"No, they had been given to me by Lysandre for my... mission," both Ash and Alain had a grimace on their faces. "Well, I just wanted you to be the first to know, well, second, as Mairin already knows." A blooming smile spread through Alain's lips. "I accepted Champion Diantha's invitation to join the Elite Four of Kalos."

"Congratulations!" Ash told him warmly. "You deserve it. Now, though, we have someone listening in." Ash turned towards me, where I was hiding. I sheepishly left my hiding spot and smiled awkwardly at the two. "What are you doing Max?" Ash asked me, with an amused smirk.
