"I think I have to breakup with Oikawa".
Yumiko almost spat her chocolate milk when she heard Miyoko say that.
"What? Why? You're the perfect couple!"
"What?" She laughed "there's nothing perfect about it", she crushed her strawberry milk carton and absentmindedly tossed it in the bin, "I can't keep reassuring him all the time if he doesn't do anything about it."
"What's wrong?"
"I try everything to make him feel good about himself. I keep pushing him but I know he feels like he's being suffocated, I can see it in his face but I don't know how to tell you." She stared at the clouds. Yumiko quietly stood by her side outside their class, with her arms on the railings of the corridor.
"Is everything okay?" She asked.
"I know there's no person in this world that's not insecure, but the way he handles it puts a lot of strain on our relationship and I don't know how much longer I can keep fixing that."
"How bad has it gotten?" Yumiko asked with a sorry face.
"Bad enough to cheat on me."
————
Yumiko was worried about Miyoko, she seemed too calm about it. "Miyoko, I think you should talk about it. I mean, it doesn't have to be me but..."
"Talk about what?" Miyoko had a lot of friends but they weren't like Yumiko.
"About O-Oikawa. How do you know he's- y-you should talk to Kenma at least. I know you've been friends with him for a while."
"I'm good", Miyoko turned around to go back to her class.
"Miyoko", Yumiko's voice stopped her. "Are you sure?"
"I'm certain," she flatly said before walking inside her class. Yumiko saw a hint of sadness through her facade as she walked away.
Miyoko even attended his prefectural matches and Yumiko was too terrorised to interrupt her. While Oikawa was overjoyed to see her there, she just sat in the balcony and watched him play. She couldn't cheer for him even if she forced herself, she just saw how amazing his game was. She analysed every single fibre tingling his brain. Attending so many of his practice matches had already given her an insight to how he played. And by the end of the match knew exactly how he played. What every single word meant. How his brain worked. She watched his body language, every movement, every signal. She smiled when she realised who he was cheating on her with.
"Ne, Oikawa san..." she mumbled to herself with the most sadistic smile Yumiko had ever seen "...let's see what it's like to have all your dreams destroyed".
When Seijoh won against Karasuno, it was exactly what she wanted.
"Yoko chan~" Oikawa put his arm around her and she almost froze. "You really are my lucky charm. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Lies. Everything he said was lies. He was capable of playing perfectly well without having her around. She started seeing through everything he'd said. The pain resonating in her chest soon multiplied-
"I love you", Oikawa's tone had changed. She froze when she saw his eyes. He looked like the person he turned into when he analysed a tricky volleyball match. He'd already sensed that something was a little off. She was upset in a way that he'd never seen before. He saw how she tried to conceal it.
She knew that he knew something was off. She couldn't care less about it, but she had to make sure that he didn't find out. "I love you the most".
Oikawa couldn't move another inch when he saw her dead eyes. His heart rate shot up as he watched her just look at him like she used to, but her eyes were different.
"I hope you defeat Shiratorizawa this time", she said. "Do you want some chocolate milk?"
Oikawa could only nod.
She walked towards the vending machines to get some strawberry milk for herself and some chocolate milk for Oikawa. The smile on her face dropped as she pressed the buttons on the vending machine and the soft whirring tuned out the chatter on the corridor... until-
"Neee~ you're really pretty"
She ignored him just fine as she picked up her cartons and turned around to leave. That's when she saw him. Red hair, tall and skinny.
Shiratorizawa.
"Oh! You're Oikawa's girlfriend, aren't you??" He was loud enough to attract the attention of his teammates. "But... you don't look so... how should I put this... umm..." Tendou cleared his throat "happy?"
"Tendou" she read from his jersey. "Do you like strawberry milk?" She offered with a blank face.

When Seijoh lost against Shiratorizawa, there was deafening silence in the gymnasium.
Oikawa heard faint clicks and looked in the direction of the sound too see Miyoko walking away. He was too devastated to move but once he spoke to the coach and his team, he quickly went after her.
"Yoko chan~"
"Hmm?"
"Are you... disappointed in me?"
"I'm not" she said.
"Then why do you look upset?"
"OIKAWA SAN! The coach is asking for-" Kiara stopped in her tracks.
"Why not?" She looked at Kiara and looked back at him.
"M-Miyoko..."
"Ahh you think I'm dumb, don't you?" She said with a serious face. "Disgusting"
"It's not... I can-"
"Explain?" She walked towards him "I don't need your explanation or your apology Oikawa san. I want you to remember what you had... and what you lost." She kissed his cheek "you had everything you could've possibly wanted and you still chose to... do that" she pointed at Kiara. "Your manager? How lame can you be" she scoffed.
"I'm not mad at you." She turned to walk away.
"MIYOKO CHAN PLEASE DON'T LEAV-"
"How do you think Shiratorizawa found out every single one of your strategies before you even used them?"
"No, you couldn't hav-"
"I have nothing personal against your team, I love them. This defeat was just for you. Consider this my last present. I hope you remember me". She smiled and waved before she left.
*a few hours ago*
"Ne, why would you tell me all this?" Tendou rocked back and forth drinking his strawberry milk.
"I have my own reasons"
"But you're his girlfriend, how do I know you're not telling me all this to throw me off?"
"You're a guess blocker, aren't you?" She asked.
"I am"
"You like to gamble. What do you think I'm doing here?" She leaned forward and placed her hand under her chin. The cafeteria was pretty crowded so she knew not a soul would pay attention to her.
"Did he cheat on you?"
"If you can gamble this well, I think you should trust your gut."
"My gut..." Tendou wasn't one to be intimidated by anyone "... tells me you're not lying".
"Can you fill my lottery tickets as well? You're really good at this"
But Miyoko scared the shit out of him.
