"It looks beautiful Eclipsa." Alexis says as she watches Eclipsa decorating the monster temple with flowers.
"Thank you dear. The ones you made look beautiful as well. It's been a real delight having you around." Eclipsa says as Alexis smiles.
"Thanks for letting me stay here since I chose to stay behind when Star, Marco, and dad left to find Moon." Alexis say as she is playing with Meteora in wolf form with her riding on her back.
"Hey Eclipsa!" A voice shouts revealing to be Star and Marco.
"Oh Star! Marco! Welcome back! Any luck finding your mother?" Eclipsa asks curiously.
"No." Star says as she sighs.
"You know have you checked the tower down the way?" Eclipsa asks.
"I've checked the tower." Star says grumpily.
"Three times." Marco whispers as Alexis looks at him.
"Well, you never can be too thorough." Alexis says as she hands Meteora to Eclipsa.
"You want to bet?" A cloud asks.
"What?" Marco asks before the cloud is poofed away.
"The castle's really coming along." Star says as she looks at the monster tower.
"It's a work in progress. Luckily I've had lots of help from my transition team. I'd be lost without them." Eclipsa says as the group sees the team helping out while the laser puppies come running outside.
"Aah puppies! Aw did you miss us?" Star asks happily.
"Let's head inside. You must be tired." Eclipsa says.
"Actually I could really go for some food." Marco says.
*Timeskip*
"So where's dad? Still camping?" Alexis asks curiously as the group is walking around inside.
"You know dad. He's processing things slowly." Star says.
"Princess Star! I mean Regular Star! How goes the search for yours and Alexis's mother?" Sir Lavabo says as he comes over with some laundry.
"It's going. Just... taking some time to recharge." Star says.
"Did you check that tower?" Sir Lavabo asks.
"So Lavabo how are things going here?" Marco asks.
"I am busy performing my royal duties as always. I am... still getting used to seeing the fruits of my labor defiled." Sir Lavabo says as he looks at the monsters.
"Oh Star! Did you find your mother? Things have been a bit uh... different in her absence." Manfred says as he comes over.
"Star might I borrow you for a second?" Eclipsa asks as the group follows her to where they see monsters working to free a crystallized Globgor.
"Wow. This is quite a production." Star says.
"I've spared no expense to free my poor husband." Eclipsa says as one of the worker's pickax breaks.
"That is... not working." Alexis says.
"No it's not. But I just can't help but try everything I can to bring him back. You know what that's like." Eclipsa says.
"Yeah I do." Star says as the group follows Eclipsa.
"Let's get you settled in. I'm afraid your rooms aren't quite ready yet. Things have been a bit hectic around here." Eclipsa says as the group follows her to a room.
"Ha-ha-ha! Don't worry about it. I'm just happy to sleep in a real bed for once." Marco says as he lays on a bed before seeing Meteora climbing on a ceiling.
"There's my baby! Come to Mama!" Eclipsa says as Meteora jumps to her.
"Aw baby Meteora. Long time no see. Uh... a-are you sure she doesn't remember anything from before?" Marco asks as Meteora stares at him.
"Of course not! At least I hope not. That'd be bad for all of us wouldn't it? But she does seem to have taken to Alexis rather well. Oh! Would you look at that? My old spying spell! Back to work already Star?" Eclipsa says as she sees Star casting an seeing eye spell.
"Yup. May as well start quadruple-checking all the places." Star says.
"That's... very thorough of you. But don't work yourself too hard. You need some time to rest." Eclipsa says.
"Ugh! This is pointless!" Star says in frustration and goes to leave.
"Star wait!" Alexis shouts as Star continues to run off.
*Timeskip*
Later as Alexis is in her room she hears someone knock.
"The door is open Eclipsa. If you're looking for Meteora she isn't in here." Alexis says as she is reading a book on her bed.
"Actually it's just me." A voice says as Alexis sees it is Marco.
"Oh hey." Alexis says.
"Hey.. How you doing?" Marco asks as he comes into the room.
"Okay I guess." Alexis says.
"That's good.. I really missed you while I've been gone." Marco says as Alexis smiles.
"I missed you too. I'm glad you're back. Even if it's only for a little bit." Alexis says.
"I brought you some pie." Marco says as he shows Alexis a plate of pie.
"Marco please stop beating around the bush. I know you're avoiding telling me something." Alexis says as Marco sets the pie down on a stand and sits on the bed.
"Me? Hiding something? Never." Marco says.
"Marco." Alexis says annoyedly as Marco sighs.
"Alright.. look I'm not certain we'll find your mom. I know you're mad at her and Star is hopeful we'll find her I'm just saying it's gonna be a very long shot if we do." Marco says.
"I know that." Alexis says as she puts her book down.
"You do?" Marco asks surprisedly.
"Yeah. I do miss her.. She was there for me growing up but I still can't get over how she acted that day. I'm not sure if I'll view her as my mother again but.. it's not even the fact of how she acted with me that is on my mind it's what we both said. I said things I shouldn't of and I realize she said things she didn't mean." Alexis says sadly.
"And now you're worried you guys may never see each other again.. Get the chance to make up for it even if it doesn't set things back how they were.." Marco says as Alexis nods.
"Yeah." Alexis says before Marco hugs her.
"Alexis it was the heat of the moment. You can't have known any of this would happen." Marco says.
"No but I still feel bad for staying angry with her like that." Alexis says sadly.
"I know but you can't do anything about it now. All you can do is hold out hope." Marco says.
"Marco?" Alexis asks.
"Yeah?" Marco asks.
"Do you care to stay with me tonight? It would mean a lot if you would." Alexis says as Marco looks at her curiously.
"You want me to stay with you?" Marco asks in surprise.
"Yeah. Marco is there something else you're not telling me?" Alexis ask as she sees Marco give a nervous look.
"Uh no. I was uh just surprised you wanted me to do that but yeah. I'll stay with you tonight." Marco says as he nervously lays down beside Alexis as she moves closer to him before falling asleep.
