Severus

The moment the full moon was high up in the sky, his wolf sighed, ("It's time. Let me take it from here.")

"Let's get this over with."

He was shoved mentally into his small corner of his mind, but that did not detract from the pain of his bones lengthening, his muscles becoming more defined, and black hair spreading all over him and his claws forming. He couldn't help it: he screamed and screamed, until his body became that of a very large wolf, much more of a wolf in shape than Remus Lupin's half man shaped wolf form.

Once he settled into his wolf form, he ran into the Forbidden Forest, and he began to relish the feeling of running, of the sheer freedom of the dirt, grass, and leaves crunching beneath his canine paws. His eyesight had never been more keen, his strength never stronger. He was a newborn werewolf exploring his world for the first time, and he absolutely loved it. Why did Lupin hate this part of his life? The freedom? The power he felt around him and inside of him?

He journeyed further into the forest and encountered the den of stags and their does. Hunger flared inside him, and he licked his chops as he laid in wait for the stags to leave the does defenseless. The last thing he needed was to get into a scuffle with them. He counted the time in the breeze among the trees in the way the moon was placed in the sky. Two minutes, five... The stags moved away, and they went down to drink at the edge of the Black Lake.

Now. Now was the time. He pounced, his teeth and claws ripping into his prey. The doe screamed, and the herd tried to fight him, but he was stronger. He overpowered them all with frightening ease and scared most of them off, save for the last buck, her mate obviously.

Severus watched in the corner of his mind as his wolf attacked with such strategy that it made his blood run cold. The wolf snapped his jaws onto the buck's exposed throat, and it was over. The wolf howled in victory, and the moon shone her light on to him, seeming to bless the two kills he made. The wolf ate them bare, raw and bathed in the Black Lake. The venison tasted bloody but strangely good in this form, although he knew that in his wizard form, he would be sick from food poisoning.

The wolf wandered back to the castle grounds and spotted Hagrid. The wolf thought of attacking the half giant wizard and then did a mental shrug, seeing him as not a threat and moving on. What took him so long to return to the whomping willow was the damn branches of the tree itself. Without a wand to even perform non verbal magic, he had to rely on his wolf's agility and strength to locate the knot at the base of the trunk that would freeze the tree's branches, granting him access to the Shrieking Shack.

He went inside, and he could smell...her. The mate. His Luna. Severus could feel himself coming back to himself, and that was when the pain of forming back into his wizard form began, and it did not stop until he blacked out, and knew nothing more...until he woke up in bed in the arms of his mate...

Hermione

I knew that Severus was back when I heard first the whines of a dog in pain, and then...his screams. I ran down the stairs and found him shifting back into his wizard form, and he was having a hard time of it because his body was literally changing before me.

I knocked him out magically and levitated him to the queen sized bed in the bedroom portion of the Shrieking Shack. He was naked, and yet his wand seemed to be strapped onto a holster on his right thigh. I moved my wand to lie him down onto the bed and moved my study things into my purple beaded purse.

He had been cut up in some places and knew I had to be the one to heal him up. I quickly averted my eyes when it came to seeing his privates, but then sharply chastised myself: Look at him, coward! This will be your husband. This is no time for girlish modesty here. You have a job to do so do it.
